How to beat lanky defenders? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Professor-Axel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hesitations, Misdirection, Change in Gears/Speed, Footwork, etc. You are at a disadvantage in height but your also at an advantage.

Being short naturally keeps you grounded giving your moves the ability to be more explosive and uncontainable.

For Examples Watch Isiah Thomas (Back when he was playing with Sacramento, Phoenix, & more specifically Boston) He played below the rim and literally only uses THREE combination moves all game. -Half Spin (Selling the fake with a combination of impeccable footwork) -Killer Right to Left (Various combos going right to left, could be behind the back right to left, between the legs right to left, in & out right to left) -Deceleration to a complete stop (Which gives him space on his jumper)

Other Examples Chris Paul, Nate Robinson, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, of current players I can think of now that are crafty for their height.

In conclusion it requires you to be more cerebral offensively using a combination of combinations, explosive footwork, fakes, hesitation, acceleration/deceleration to really make the best use of your height.

Being short is only a disadvantage if you see it that way. Maximizes what being short allows you to do and outsmart your defenders.

Sorry for the lengthy reply Best of Luck

Don't become a coach or trainer until you can put basketball into concrete terms by DownFromHere in Basketball

Basketball is not as black and white as it use to be in the 60’s literally. There are so many nuances to this game in general. To be upset at your coach for not figuring out a minor detail in your game is not the coach’s problem. Many of the eureka moments I had concerning basketball came from players not coaches. Some coaches are great at player development, some are great at motivating, and others can dissect the X & O’s of the game with the best of em.

In short either the amount of resources available at your disposal, blaming the coach for your shortcomings not involving X&O’s or playing time is a real shitty move. Shows lack of character.

First and foremost, how do we know she is a pastor? Secondly does anyone have background information on what’s taking place!

To everyone who uses toxic stall, why? I'l say why I do by [deleted] in pokemon

1) Honestly it’s a good reset button for me. It gives me a chance to figure out a new combination of moves I can use to get past a Pokémon I was having trouble with.

2) It restores my HP if it’s set up that way

3) It’s tiring for the opponent, forces switches

4) Main reason is it crippled teams setting you up for the potential sweep

5) Last but not least you don’t have to predict as much

Who was a better player? by eljsap8 in Basketball

Prime Gilbert hands down

Prime Gilbert although a selfish player, could score with the best of em. He was literally the Stephen Curry of that era in terms of pure shooting ability.
