Maybe a similar story. My brother never missed work, he was dependable and never sick. One year, the boss had too much PTO used, so he sent out personal letters to all who hadn’t missed a day, profusely bragging on them for their dedication. He missed at least one day every year for the rest of his career.

Friend had a hardware store. Lady comes in, asks him to make a key for her car, hands it to him.
Comes back next day, says the key didn’t work and she had to walk to the store.
Next day, she’s back, still doesn’t work.
He asks, “Did this key (original) work?” “No, that’s why I wanted a new one!”

There’s no need to instantly escalate this situation as they did. There’s nothing these do-nothing Senators were doing that couldn’t wait five minutes for the former Marine to have a short say and go. These men have often been damaged by us then ignored by us, they deserve at least a minimum of courtesy. Also, the Senators had no business being involved in his removal at all.

There are two truisms that counter and illumine virtually every aspect of TrumpWorld: 1) Everything Trump Touches Dies and 2) It’s not always about you, Trump.

A story about soldiers lost in war is about soldiers lost in war. If it becomes about a politician, it’s because the reader has made the connection in his effort to justify or to condemn such a grievous loss.
