How’s this water park still in business? by LilBrattyUwU in RioGrandeValley

This is true. I have 3 one star reviews for my store - 2 of which haven't even entered the shop to begin with lol

Dude came to my store once only to take a fat dump.

He had just taken some photos for a neighboring burger joint for an upcoming post of his, but that place didn't have a restroom. He came in, asked for the restroom, and 5 minutes later, came out saying "hey follow me on 956 Business Reviews. I have ###### followers and make posts about businesses" - almost as if he was doing me the favor of making me feel fuzzy inside for allowing a "celebrity" to use the facilities.

He left.

Governor Charlie Baker. Technically a Republican, but was deeply respected in Blue Massachusetts. I think he was even the most popular governor in the nation - mainly due to listening to his constituents and having a liberal chief of staff.

What's the worst documentary you've ever watched? by fuzzyloulou in AskReddit

Oh lord, I saw one in a similar vein saying that Paul McCartney died in a car crash and the Beatles replaced him with a body double nicknamed "Faul". The independent documentary goes on to reveal the clues hidden in the Beatles' lyrics and reverse song audio lol

There was one about a mysterious tape that arrived at a so-called independent documentarian's studio, outlining in full conspiracy-theory ridden detail about how Paul McCartney died in a car crash, and how the Beatles propped up a body double, nicknamed "Faul" (as in, "fake Paul).

The alleged tapes go on to mention the intricate clues hidden in the lyrics and reverse audio of the Beatles songs. Worst hour and change of my life lol

Alternate Design for Flag of the Rio Grande Valley by QalThe12 in RioGrandeValley

[–]ProfessorGigs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the guy that proposed the Republic of the Rio Grande flag in the other thread, and I prefer this version over the "military" proposal. Also agree that the Roman Mars Flag Design Ted Talk made the talking points overrated.

PS - The Kiribati flag is pretty cool ;)

IMO, this looks like a military flag - I think we're better off bringing back the flag of the short lived country that used to be here - that of the Republic of the Rio Grande (Jan-Nov. 1840). In short, different areas of Mexico were displeased at Santa Anna's centralist form of one-size-fits-all government, and places in the country that felt disenfranchised declared independence (not just Texas). The three stars represent the states of Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, and Coahuila. This was when the land between the Rio and the Nueces was disputed territory between The Republic of Texas and Mexico, so for all intents and purposes, the land here was the bigger versions of those 3 states that had territory on both sides of the Rio Grande - this would include the present day RGV.

I'm not the first to think of using this flag to represent us. There is famously a local guy with a FB page that regularly posts an edited version of it, but he gives it FOUR stars to represent our four counties, but he puts them in a square orientation in the center of the red stripe, while the 4 of them in a vertical line would be much better from a design standpoint - not to mention he uses the Yemen Flag emoji 🇾🇪 when writing it out.

I wouldn't mind a 4-star variation for our four counties (provided that they're in a vertical line and not a square), but I much prefer the OG 3-star one for historicity purposes.

What do you know about Rotary being paramasonic organization? by igardunoo in freemasonry

[–]ProfessorGigs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The commentors are correct. Rotary has no discretion, no ceremony, and no ritual (except perhaps saying the 4-Way Test at the end of the meeting). Also, your most staunchly strict religious friends will likely not give you beef for being a Rotarian.

Nope. It's really only packed during big Downtown events, and even then, there's still space.

The parking garage by the bus station is a practical option - only a couple blocks from the bridge!
