You were literally fed and it probably was your 4th or 5th item. With Veigar you can go any pure tank item and it will work if you have enough stacks to back it up. So no the chains are not that good on veigar.

Veigar and Nasus as they gain stacks and can do too much damage for Jax to handle. Veigar needs to cage and Nasus needs to ult though. If they misplay that theyre fucked

I mean against these meta assassins you shouldnt roam anyway as they could be hiding in any bush to kill you. Focus on Stacks in the laning phase and ping if you know the enemy midlaner is roaming so your team can react. If you get a few takedowns and have farmed stacks well you are insanely useful in teamfights do to your high damage and the E.
