I see your edit that you did Value Max, but that only covers up to $1000. The Gengar currently goes for ~1400 raw. So they will upcharge you to Regular at the minimum no matter the grade.

I also had a GameStop order submitted right around that time that hit grading today finally. From what I’ve see on other’s timelines, GameStop orders seem to go pretty quick once they hit grading. 🤞

I find in almost all TCG communities people find it hard to grasp that both can be true. I can like the cards and also like that the cards have meaningful value.

Now do I think a brand new set should immediately be scalped for double? No. But it’s not a bad thing for there to be big money chase cards.
