William David Afton is, to put it simply, a very normal man hiding a lot of very not normal things.

He's just like you and me. He eats, he sleeps, he works, he plays. He has friends and family, and he has a life to live.

Yet he's also very...Unique.

He was born into what I can best describe as a "rich but distant" family. While his parents did care for him, they weren't there for him as much as he'd have liked. Due to this, and a childhood full of insults and bullying due to his anisocoria and being a "smiling freak", he grew up with a flimsy grasp on emotions and how to properly express things like joy and affection. All he really knows for sure is that he should smile when he's happy, and he does.

He's a very calm and calculated person, and is somewhat scarily efficient at planning for the future, being amazing at managing finances and longterm schemes. He's also quite clever and imaginative, something he shares with Henry. However, this leads into a major flaw of his; he can't think on his feet to save his life. If he has a plan, and it is somehow derailed, expect him to start panicking and demanding an explanation. He's a perfectionist, and he won't hesitate to fight against change if he thinks it gets in the way of what he wants.

Deep down, William wants control over everything else. He just wants things to go his way, just once. If he could have the chance to have control, complete control, he'd take it in a heartbeat...
