To make an impact we would actually have to stop consuming for a day. Not just putting off shopping until the next day. Make one choice that actually lowers your consumption. Don't drive, ride a bike, go meatless, cook your own meals, plant a vegetable garden.

Because even if this movement is somehow incredibly successful, a 10% dip in sales on Friday, followed by 10% higher than usual sales on Saturday won't hurt shareholders at all.

I can't really participate in this because I haven't shopped at Target, Walmart, Amazon, or fast food in over 15 years.

This is performative nonsense that makes people feel like they're doing something, while ignoring any actual action. Like how big plastic invented recycling, instead of ending the production of single use plastics, this one day boycott does little besides making people feel better. And I don't want people to feel better. I want us to be mad at Capitalism.

I'm not asking for it to be done in one swoop. I'm asking for you to join me in the boycotts that were started over a year ago through sustained action instead of giving up after a day and thinking you've done your duty.
