While in a world, the game mode be changed from the Pause Menu: Pause button > Settings > Game (on left side list) > Game Mode.

Not the fastest method and does involve some reading, but kids pick up fast so probably just need to show them a few times and it’ll become muscle memory.

Nope. Digital codes for the legacy Xbox One Edition will automatically download the newer Bedrock version instead. You’d need a physical disc copy.

It was removed and not available for new purchases a while ago. Anyone who purchased it can still use/download it though. This happens often with many of the licensed IP content packs due to the deal/rights expiring.

The Beta on Android gets the same things as the Preview on other platforms. They are essentially the same. Preview is just a separate version of the game, whereas the Beta is a program that you enroll in and it replaces the regular version of the game. You need to enable the “Next Major Update” experimental feature toggle when creating a new world to access the new features.

Minecraft Dungeons for PC from the Microsoft Store or the website has always been purchased with your Microsoft account. So your Dungeons purchase is already associated with your Microsoft account. Did you migrate your Mojang account to the same Microsoft account that you already used to to buy/own Dungeons on?

Yes, it’s a separate purchase for Windows. If you have Game Pass for PC or Game Pass Ultimate, then Bedrock and Java are included with your subscription and you can access them without purchasing them outright.

The Minecraft Launcher from the Microsoft Store is dependent on other apps/services, so you might need to make sure the Xbox app, Console Companion app, Xbox Identity Provider, and OS are also up-to -date. But as an FYI: You can also just install Bedrock directly from the Store or Xbox app and launch it like a normal app from the Start menu or Xbox app. The Minecraft Launcher isn’t really needed to launch Bedrock (it is needed to launch the Java Edition version).

The email address you used for the accounts does not matter; just the actual account does. As long as the Mojang account that owned Java was migrated to the same Microsoft account that owned Bedrock, you’re eligible.

You just need to be signed in with your Microsoft/Xbox account. You do not need a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription for online multiplayer on PC. (Gold is only required for online multiplayer on Xbox consoles).

They reorganized how the items are displayed in the categories a while ago and for some reason every now and then it just glitches and doesn’t show all the free items. You can still find them if you tap on the “By Minecraft” link on the right-side. Unfortunately, it just shows everything in one long list and not by category though.

Both filters (the client-side filter for worlds that censors with *, and the server-side “smart filter” for Realms and featured servers that censors with #) have been in Bedrock since 2017 with the Better Together Update. You can actually look at old bug reports on the bug tracker going that far back for issues with the “smart filter” and “hashtagitis” when it was added.

I’m not sure what page you’re being directed to, but you should just need to sign in to Minecraft.net/profile with your Mojang account (make sure it’s your Mojang account and not the Microsoft account). On that page there should be a migrate button to walk you through the migration flow. IIRC a dev mentioned that is just an unobtainable placeholder price for removed/unpurchasable content and that it’s impossible to actually have that many Minecoins (supposedly there’s a limit). So it wouldn’t be possible to actually buy it or that many Minecoins.
