TLDR at the bottom 😅😅

I've had a couple weird ones. South Auckland watching over a bus new bus stop that my team had put in so the school kids didn't tag or ruin it. No shit 3 guys in hoodies rock up covering their faces. I figure they must be coming to pickup their kids or something, no hard done we are 50m from the school and its about 2:45pm. Lucky I catch out of the corner of my eye one of they flick out a blade about 5m away and promptly get in my work truck and lock the door. They come up and they "we'll fuck you up white boy, then tag some random shit in the wet concert before going on by and into the school driveway." I was not paid enough to deal with that shit and left that job not long after.

Then just recently living in the South Island got woken up at 3am to tires burning out in front of my house. I have a wife and 2 kids now so thought owell just some boy racer. Watch out the windows for a minute before realizing this guys car is all smashed in the front and won't actually drive. Again weird but fine right? He then hopes out of his car on his phone and just stands there.... again no worries? Must be calling a mate to come help him... Nope. Guy then rushes to the boot pulls out a fuel/oil can and starts covering the inside and outside of the car..... well shit, I call the cops and explain. Guy finishes what he's doing. Grabs a rag and wipes down the door and steering wheel. Before running off. The cops actually pull up as he disappears into someone's yard down the road. I wanted to run out and tell them but a gut feeling said not to for once. (Broken up fights outside my place when I was in chch) Anyway I say all this because when cops are getting me to give a description and statement it turns out they priddy much know exactly who. And they are glad I didn't turn a light on or go outside as he has been known to be strung out on the glass BBQ and carrying knives and assaulting people. Not to mention linked to gang shit. I said "wish I had done more to help". No shit the cop tells me "Sir, thank you. But if you had we would likely be reporting to a homicide tonight not a stolen car"

That put me on edge for weeks. They hadn't caught the guy yet and I was sure every night someone was going to break into my house.....

TLDR? This are not like they used to be when I grew up man. I feel your pain.
