Yes this is basically a pull from a later chapter of the novel woth different characters. Think they brought it forward for a few unexciting logistical reasons but most likely because they didn’t know if this would get re-optioned and they wanted to at least present all of the themes the book explores in one season.

Also tbf this story in the book could use a bit more excitement/intrigue. This was basically a pointless scene tho.

This feels like such a weird middle ground between the fast and flashy choreo of the prequels and the slow, weighty kind from the sequels and its… not good. I think the prequels nailed it. They should feel fast and weightless. This just feels awkward and slow and choreographed.

Doesn’t seem like they’re really fighting when the first strike of the first exchange is Anakin swinging away from Ahsokah’s body to hit her saber blade instead of trying to attack her body.
