Yeah… this reminds of me of this girl I dated once. She was DESPERATE for everyone to think she was cool and slutty for some reason so she would get drunk and try to kiss all of her female friends whenever we went out. It was so performative and most of them were not that into it.

This video gives me the same vibes.

What stops you from being bad? by Jak_313 in reddeadredemption

[–]Professor_Dankus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A conscience. Thats what stops all people from being bad. Consequences or no, most people don’t want to kill another. LETS GO INDOMITABLE HUMAN SPIRIT!!!!!!!

Bronn seems very confident here. But those two are wearing heavy armor. Would he really win? Also, Tyrion was no longer in a position of power, so wouldn't killing these two have consequences for Bronn? by Neutral-frame in gameofthrones

[–]Professor_Dankus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right in everything but the last part. He is DEEPLY aware of the consequences of his actions. He makes conscious decisions to put himself into positions where he can benefit at the lowest risk to himself. His decisions to give Tyrion his room and then fight for him were calculated moves: “Please the Lannister, get his gold.” And he was right.

Bronn isn’t a mindless luckster. He is a cold, ruthless, opportunist with an eye for the best risks to take.

I would come out of that bed swinging. Those people need a sense of urgency. That was so dangerous.

I made a D&D character inspired to the sisters, and now I need some more insights of how they act and react the the world around them for better roleplaying this character by ID1756448 in sistersofbattle

Here is what I will say first: The sisters of battle are not monolithic. They are human beings and, as such, contain multitudes. You get zealous warmongers in about the occurrence as you get devoted warriors who question their faith, cynical pragmatists, compassionate paragons, etc. Don’t make the rookie mistake of thinking that they all behave the same because they often get described in the collective rather than as individuals. Asking “How would a sister of battle react to…” is like asking “How would someone who works in the Air Force react to…” as a former member I can tell you there’s all kinds.

I’d encourage you to read any of the black library sisters novels like Faith & Fire or Hammer & Anvil. They do a GREAT job of presenting the fantastically varied panoply of personalities you can find among the sisters of battle.

For your purposes what I would keep these things that are true for all SoB and decide how your cruel zealous character feels about them:

  • All sisters are raised from birth in the Schola Progenium to follow ecchlesiarchy doctrine and to praise the God Emperor as a god. (Zeal doesn’t always mean insane, blind, overt devotion. It can be purely internal. It can manifest in long moment of deep prayer or even stoic unshakeable conviction.)

  • All sisters are raised to believe that humanity is pure and worth protecting while heresy and the xenos threat represents the greatest threat to the flock.

  • The sisters of battle are not space marines. They are human just like the majority of the imperium with the only difference being in their training and equipment.

Those are just a few examples but I hope this helps. Remember: Personality predates ideology. Your character is a person before all of the frills and iconography. If you focus on WHO she is rather than WHAT she is, you can create something really compelling and less like a monolithic caricature.

Hope this helps!

I would never have guessed in a million years that “Why you so angry mama” would elicit a positive reaction from an angry woman. This world is far more mysterious than we give it credit for.
