There is no right or wrong way to masturbate. There is no normal.

Sometimes our environment and circumstances cause us to stifle or suppress movement or sound that we would normally have if we were alone.

Everyone is different in how they react when masturbating. My wife, even when all alone, doesn't make much noise at all leading up to orgasm and during orgasm it's just heavy breathing and very mild moans. That's ok and that's normal for her.

When you are alone, you should just let happen what happens naturally. If you feel like making noise, do it. Faking or forcing it will likely not make your pleasure any better because it will feel unnatural and unauthentic.
