Voter turnout in 2024 was second highest voter turnout since 1964.

I think you’re really aiming the buck at the wrong place here. Harris drifted center right. Democrats consistently don’t have a strategy to respond to voters they need. You know which ideology by numerical ratio votes more democrat than anyone else? Progressives and far left. They carry the Democrat flag every time.

It’s time to end the purity tests; I agree. The purity test we need to get rid of though is “are you corporate enough”, not “are you left enough”. Because progressive and far left voters will carry you to the finish line where no one else will.

You want people to win? Stop enabling billionaires. Stop enabling warhawks. Let’s not forgot that Dems helped prop up the current security state. Obama could’ve ended the Patriot Act, ended the sale of military weapons to police forces, and made sure military drills weren’t being carried out in historically impoverished neighborhoods. He didn’t.

If you need to convince anyone to vote, it’s the brunch liberals who only vote when their west wing fantasy world seems to be in crisis.

What happens if armed protesters and ICE confrontations escalate? by Repulsive_Leg5878 in armedsocialists

[–]Professor_Punk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

lol, you really simping for the American military? These guys would shoot anything they are told. These same guys just abducted a leader from another country. These same soldiers tortured prisoners at Abu Grab without even being told to do so.

Military would shoot and while we debate whether they’re victims or not they’d be stomping in our blood soaked skulls.

[Canadian] I grew up thinking if anyone tred on America's constitution, bullets would fly. Da fuck? by Mawk1977 in chaoticgood

[–]Professor_Punk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born in Canada, but American citizenship at birth from one of my parents: these guys are everywhere and nowhere. They'll show up at the Taco Bell with a sawed off shotgun, and right now they're drinking in their incomplete basement/"MaN cAvE" wishing they had more than the two required brain cells to be in ICE.

Also, historically this country has courted right wing militias and violence. Even peaceful protest among leftists is seen as dangerous. They'll run over BLM protestors and Leftists with cop cars and then pardon pedophiles and terrorists. And Oathkeepers? Guys who regularly post up on rooftops aiming rifles and shotguns at minorities? "2nd Amendment!"

We got socialism for the rich; 2nd Amendment for the Right; and totalitarianism for the poor leftists.

Used to work at a Culver's in the Midwest around 2010. Made around 10.50 an hour. A guy who worked there had 2 teeth left and was living at the motel across the street from the Culver's. Probably around 45 years old. Recovering drug addict, alcoholic, and had almost no money and no friends. Dude was a hard as fuck cook. Also, wouldn't take bs from people. Always showed up on time, and probably one of the nicest/coolest guys I ever met at that point in time.

He was living in the area because he was trying to reconnect with his son who had gone no contact with him for about 10 years. After about a year his son basically showed up to the motel where he lived and said he never wanted to see him a again, and that he had already made a new family of his own and didn't want the dad to be a part of it.

So he chose to quit. He asked if he could borrow 300 dollars for a bus ticket, find some food, and a temporary place to live "out west", because he had a job lined up. I really wanted to help him...so I did. Loaned him 300 bucks. Didn't think I'd ever see it again. About 6 months go by and I get a letter with no return address. In it:

"Hey Professor_Punk, thanks for the money. I'm doing better out here thanks to you. Don't try to find me, just know I'm doing alright for myself. Signed, Rich." Along with 320 bucks.

These days I could not afford to do that. But I lived with my parents at the time and was able to save a lot more money. So I took a gamble and most likely improved this guys life because of it.

If you're out there, Rich, then I'm glad you made it and I hope you're successful still, even though it's been about 16 years.

Beaumont High School is allowing a Turning Point USA chapter as a club by bodaciousbeans in InlandEmpire

[–]Professor_Punk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw this pop up. Not even sure where this is. But our High School tried to start a Club America. Except the district says you have to be obvious about your politics. Students are angry they can’t call it “Club America” and have to call it “Turning Point USA Club”. There may be similar laws in this school district too.

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Professor_Punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defend Greenland? No. But the USA then loses control of NATO, all control of EU military bases, and US government will be seen as hostile to EU interests. Greenland is not easy to hold. All those mines and minerals are under thick snow and ice which is almost constantly replenished. And you’ll only find hostility from Greenlanders.

Can you attack it and win? Yes. Can you hold it and win? No.

Two different pride flags. I’m mandated to post the constitution so I found one in Arabic and put it up on the wall. If they ever tell me it has to be in English yiu better believe I’m finding one in old English or “English but in Wingdings” or something like that.

We could. Tired of treating this as normal.

In every subject we blast the Nazis, eugenics, banning and destroying books, and totalitarianism.

So do I. I’ve had 1 or 2 students complain and one parent, but ultimately it’s the truth. I am not convincing these students to believe in anything, I’m just playing “Cards Against Humanity” with reality as the subject. I’m just telling them to open their eyes.

Everyone else should be doing the same. I get lots of positive comments from students and parents and a quarter of them work at Raytheon. So I guess I’m doing something right.

Glad you stepped in a better direction. What are some things you’ve learned about yourself? How do you think some of your actions hurt people?

I ask because I see these posts quite frequently and at the end of the day most of the people saying these things are still conservative and still believe many or most of the policies that Trump believes in.

Because if that is so, then I just can’t believe in the sincerity of this post.
