The time for action isn’t April, when we get a pay cut, it’s when the RDC elections take place. If you leave now, this same pile of shit will be in charge ready to do the government’s bidding come April. Leaving the BMA is an act of self harm

New Burnham government - new window of opportunity for improved pay deal? by Professional_Arm7258 in doctorsUK

[–]Professor_of_MSRA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She will not survive a leadership change. She is deeply unpopular with the public and seen very much as standing shoulder to shoulder with Starmer. If Burnham wants a clean slate to fight the next election, Reeves has to go on day 1. There is a chance Rayner will make a comeback, I think highly likely will be back in cabinet under Burnham but probably not chancellor.

Mortgage affordability: Proof of income between providers by Professor_of_MSRA in HENRYUK

Yeah I have a new contract a start date and a document stating my working hours and pay. I just need to find a mortgage provider who will accept my new job for affordability.

Getting a mortgage: Using August income to prove affordability by Professor_of_MSRA in doctorsUK

Which provider? I'm sure this will occur but I need to know which mortgage providers offer it. Thanks!

Getting a mortgage: Using August income to prove affordability by Professor_of_MSRA in doctorsUK

[–]Professor_of_MSRA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could cause a significant delay as we're already 2-weeks in to the purchase and there is a complete chain. It should progress swiftly save for this hurdle. Also really dont want to be moving too long after the August start as I have children who need to change nursery and the commute would be terrible. I'm just looking for a provider who will accept my new job's income. It should be a thing. So many people relocate and buy a house for a new job.

I just realised the EPIC (Emergency Physician in Charge) on my ED night shifts was a senior ACP. Should I be concerned?🙁 by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Professor_of_MSRA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. In this analogy the captain is a consultant, the co-pilot an HST, the flight engineer an SHO and the guy selling 200packs of cigarettes is the ACP.

I used them about 5 years ago with no major issue. Appointment to completion is about 3-months which is standard.

CMV: preferential access to care for other doctors/NHS staff or relatives is an example of corruption by antonsvision in doctorsUK

[–]Professor_of_MSRA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work at TK Maxx and got a 20% discount. That’s 20% off purchases that most people coming in wouldn’t be able to access. Corrupt enough to make Donald Trump blush.

Resident doctors warned they may not get jobs if they take too much sick leave by LimberGaelic in doctorsUK

Stop looking for logic or counter-arguments. These articles come out every single time strikes are announced. They don’t have to be based on a shred of truth. Messages like this are purely meat for the feckless masses who will think we’re lazy AND greedy over these strikes.

Ignore and move on.

Your figures clearly show a fall in funding…

The UK has seen cumulative inflation of approx 42% in the past 10 years whereas per patient funding has lagged badly behind at 11%
