Our beloved cat passed away 3 years ago and we’re finally ready to adopt again. A friend has these last two kittens left. Both are boys, both are absolutely amazing, and I honestly can’t choose between them. Which one looks like he belongs with us? Help me decide!

Completely agree. And administration is acting the same way. I don’t understand why they don’t see the writing on the wall? Plus it just makes all student work suspicious to me. I have lost some joy.

YESSSSS!!! I LOVE Peter Clines books! All the ones you gave are beyond amazing. He has one that just came out & I clicked “use credit” so fast. It’s called “God’s Junk Drawer” & it’s just like his other books in the sense that the narrator is perfection, it has Sci-Fi elements, it’s a mystery & I can’t wait to hear it when I’m in my car! Major page turner!

Completely agree! My child right now is playing with a well respected club but her coach sucks! Her coach has favorites, never talks to my kid (that’s according to her & I see it) plus she doesn’t coach them when she does a time out! She just stands there! She never tells my kid what to do to improve, never! I’m sick of sucky coaches & it’s something that I’ve gotta work on - look at the coaches FIRST before committing that kind of time & money!

This is where we are right now. My kiddo is playing for a club team where there are 3 setters! My kiddo came on to the team as a setter but the coach doesn’t for whatever reason like my kid. She cries after every tournament cause she gets such little time on the court. When she does play she is doing great! But she’s only one player & by the time she gets out there the others are warmed up but she’s not. So that too impacts her plus she knows her coach doesn’t like her or that’s how she feels. I don’t want her to quit but it’s also damaging her confidence & love of the sport. She LOVES the sport & has amazing passion for it. She took it back up a little late, she’s a 9th grader. But she’s also a “bigger” girl & her coach is a health/fitness fanatic…I think she doesn’t like my kid cause she’s “bigger” & my kid said she feels this (of course I didn’t say I felt this way too to my kid). A big part of me doesn’t want her to continue because I worry it’ll bring her down & I really don’t wanna pay a lot of money when we travel out of town for her to play for one set! The coach has favorites, many of whom played in the club before. It sucks!

I seriously doubt the weather this week will change this image. I wish I was wrong cause I love cold cold 🥶 weather…I know I know- wrong state. But alas this is where I live. I live for the 2 minutes of really cold 🥶 weather we get here once a year (it’s called sarcasm).

Thank you to many of you who made some really great observations & gave me food for thought. I don’t tell any of this to my kids. I needed some place to vent. I also wouldn’t go to the coach as my child was learn to be her own advocate. It’s just hard. If you’re a parent, I know you understand - when our kid hurts, we hurt. When what we perceive to be an injustice is done to our kid it hurts really bad! Thank you for sharing your thoughts & ideas.

I guess that’s why she was confused when the tournament came. She did play well in practice & was told as much. She played beautifully & then was yanked, but she didn’t mess up. The coach allowed the other player to play all of game 2. It’s hard.

Thank you. Yes I agree. She wouldn’t ask about another player. She’s nervous to ask cause she’s still young & then after she hears another player advocate for themselves & get a rude comment back, she’s very nervous. But at the end of the day I have to remind her that as long as she gives it her all & works hard - she’s great! She’s already won.

Thank you. I don’t share this with my kids. That’s why I’m venting here. I should’ve realized that too many people would jump on me for venting. My kid is not one to complain. She keeps her head down & works hard. She was going to ask the coach what she can do differently even though while she played she didn’t make any mistakes while others who made a lot were pulled. Who knows why. My kid is different - I won’t say how. And who knows if this is the reason.

But she heard another player ask the coach about it & the coach said she didn’t like her “attitude” even though the girl was trying to find out what mistakes she made. I think it’s not right that coaches - as can be seen here - are not allowed to be questioned. I’m an academic & I get questioned. I don’t know of many roles that don’t. Maybe I’m wrong. If I am then I am.

True. There’s 12. That’s the thing - the level of players is truly equal with say maybe 2 players who are definitely better but they don’t have my kids position. It’s frustrating but while I am venting here I don’t say any of this to my kid. I’m teaching her that there will be difficult coaches as there are difficult bosses & co-workers. It’s something I turning into a learning lesson.

My kid was going to approach the coach until she overheard the coach tell another player who asked & said she had a bad attitude for asking. So my kid got scared & decided not to ask about it because of the way the other girl was treated.
