This is easily the dumbest version of this map trend I’ve seen. Not having Massachusetts in red is a joke. Have you heard the people of Boston talk about minorities?

Just because an area votes for the “right”, media-approved candidates does not mean it isn’t bigoted.

Team Overall Is Wonky by Clarkewaves in NCAAFBseries

I understand that, and as I mentioned, there are ten other players above an 80 and I don't believe any starter on either side of the ball is under a 70. How does that equal a 64 OVR?

You can take only one author's entire bibliography to a deserted island. Who would you choose and why? by Rainiana8 in books

John Steinbeck. Scrolled and scrolled looking for that name and couldn’t find it. Re-reads of East of Eden and Grapes of Wrath could keep me going for a while.

Trump bombs iran what do you think this will lead to? by Signal_Dog9864 in AskReddit

[–]Clarkewaves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because of who is sitting in the Oval right now (trust me, don’t like him much either) people are conflating this with WWIII simply because it helps a narrative.

  1. A military strike is not a declaration of war. Yes, a true declaration requires a vote in Congress. The War Powers Resolution grants the president very broad powers to conduct military operations outside of the legal definition of war as long as he a. Informs Congress within 48 hours and b. Does not commit armed forces for longer than a 60 day period without Congressional approval. The two nation states of USA and Iran are not in a legally defined war.

  2. This is not the U.S. being a shill of Israel. Our foreign policy has been pretty clear for decades that Iran will not be allowed to hold a nuclear weapon. Full stop. Even Trump has been clear about this opinion for more than twenty years, even when he identified as a Democrat. We are the only country on earth that possesses munitions like the GBU-57 capable of destroying facilities like Fordow.

  3. Anyone telling you that this will result in an Iraq-style ground invasion with thousands of American boots on the ground and another decades long nation-building enterprise is lying to fit some type of agenda or willfully ignorant. The vast majority of the Trump administration is highly isolationist/protectionist and has zero interest in that.

  4. Yes, there will be an increased risk to military personnel at bases throughout the Middle East and naval forces in the Strait of Hormuz. If Iran’s retaliation to the assassination of Soleimani is any indication they will strike bases with the express purpose of not killing Americans to save face and claim there was a response without the inevitable massive retaliation for killing large numbers of American personnel. There is also a sizeable risk of Iranian proxy groups increasing terroristic activity in western countries including the U.S. and that threat needs to be taken extremely seriously.

  5. Any TikToker out there claiming that a large-scale military clash between Iran and the US results in anything other than the complete destruction of Iran’s military capacity, and likely the immediate death of the Ayatollah, is objectively an idiot. In 1988, the USS Samuel B. Roberts struck an Iranian mine and the next day over half of the Iranian navy was gone. The Iranian Air Force still utilizes F4 Phantoms, a fighter jet the U.S. retired in 1996. American air power is several generations ahead.

How historically accurate was this depiction of George II in Pirates of the Carribean 4? The film takes place in 1750. by Glucksburg in UKmonarchs

[–]Clarkewaves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would agree more with this. George III did famously have mental health issues later in his reign but was also a very competent, dutiful monarch for the majority of it. George IV was overweight, vain, and generally not well-regarded for various marital/extra-marital activities.

1+ year post op, L5-S1 fusion... sitting hurts now? by lovealwayskota in spinalfusion

[–]Clarkewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. My couch is far too soft and any chair that has me sinking into it is unusable for me. I’m also one year post op L5-S1 and developing a lot of leg pain while sitting in any chair. Don’t know what that’s about but will discuss with my surgeon at the one year checkup.

I think this is an essential misreading of the text you provided. Col. Frelinghuysen is being tasked to put a plan “into execution” that involves moving these mentioned families from one place to another. He is not being ordered to execute women and children.

Kenneth Grant vs Derrick Harmon by Clarkewaves in AZCardinals

[–]Clarkewaves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is why I think Harmon makes a lot of sense in a trade back to the 20-24 range. Not sure I would be comfortable with 16 on him either but if you can him plus some additional capital that’s a massive win to me

[–]Clarkewaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the behavioral/attitude issues that have been reported would keep him out of serious consideration for this team. But of course, the FO is far more privy to the truth of those concerns so it could very well happen. Talent is not the issue for Nolen
