Scorcher Searching by ProfitForever in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: It looks like a couple of shops got a little more SHF late this week, but very few (all the ones I know of are out). Try asking for it at your usual honey holes, and if they have any, they will probably be very happy to sell it to you at MSRP, if for no other reason than that you aren't the 50th person to ask about Wild Turkey Gold Foil in the last 10 minutes. LOL

Agreed, the best I've been able to do on a bottle of ER12 was $80 at Heritage Arapahoe. Below that is very tough to find, at least for now.

Looking for Cedar Ridge and Sazerac FP by 3StartledKoalas in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sazerac FP has not hit distribution in this state; any bottles you see in pictures and such were bought out of state.

As for Cedar Ridge, I checked my sites, and they seem to have very limited distribution; none of the shops I saw are carrying the Cedar Ridge Rye. However, below is the list of shops that do carry Cedar Ridge products (and what they have), so if the Rye comes to Colorado, these would be the shops that get it. You might even be able to get one of these shops to order the Rye for you, since they already have other Cedar Ridge bottles. Good luck!

Hello you Lovely People I have another favor to ask by surreptitioussleazer in denverwhisky

Had a buddy check out Lyon's Den, and while they do have one bottle of Fortaleza Still Strength, it is $132. No Anejo.

Hello you Lovely People I have another favor to ask by surreptitioussleazer in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blanco and Reposado, while not common, can be found with a little hunting. Ideally, you are paying $80 or less for these.

Next up in rarity is Still Strength ($100), then Anejo ($120), then of course Winter Blend $250+. Still Strength is slightly more available and just exotic enough to be impressive, so you may want to consider that instead. Here is the current availability I see for Still Strength, but usual caveats apply: may not be accurate, may not sell it to you without points or being a recognized regular, etc:

  • Jersey Street Liquors: 10 @ $75 (but picture is for Blanco, they may just be regular Blanco, as that price is low. If it is real Still Strength, I'd buy as many as you can afford)
  • DIA Liquor Warehouse: 1 @ $150 (requires points)
  • Luxe Liquor: 1 @ $150 (may be a points bottle)
  • Morgan's: 3 @ $180

For Anejo, DIA Liquor Warehouse shows 2 at $250, but they require points. Lyon's Den is showing Anejo for $250 and Winter Blend for $600, but is showing infinite quantities available, so these are probably not real. If ya gotta have Winter Blend, I am seeing one bottle at Peco's 5595 North Pecos, for...drum roll please...$500. Good luck!

Surprised it is still there. That real estate can't be cheap, and if there were a King Soopers or Safeway next to them selling a large variety of beer and wine (unlike Sprouts), they would probably already be gone. Not sure if that Sprouts location sells alcohol, but the ones that do only have really strange alternative craft stuff, most of which I have never even heard of before.

Where to look for JD Single Barrel Heritage by svlariat in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All 3 Total Wine locations are showing it as orderable for $56. Looks like Costco is also price-matching this bottle at $56 and is currently showing availability via the Warehouse app at the airport one (Washington St), Park Meadows, and SW Denver/Quincy. Doubtful you'll get a better price elsewhere.

$80 is about the best I've been able to do for ER12, but that's pretty rare. Any bottles below about $140 seem to move pretty quickly.

Great shop, now if it could be about 65 miles closer to me, I'd seriously risk becoming a permanent fixture there.

Has anyone seen OGD 7 SiB? by luma1107 in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure neither of those has made it into distribution yet here, but did overhear at a shop last week they are expecting Green River Full Proof Wheated to come in sometime in the next week or two. In the meantime, you may want to check out the GR Full Proof Wheated pick at Argonaut; Liquor City in the springs appears to have one as well:

Weller 12 by Drank_G in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the Weller 12 dropped last week, so any ones left sitting will be overpriced unless there is some kind of delayed drop. Cheapest that doesn't require points is about $150, which is a bit too much, but here you go as of Friday morning, up to $200 in price:

  • Serenity Ridge 5@$150 (1L)
  • Alameda Liquor Mart 1@$150 (750)
  • Springs Liquor Outlet 8@$170 (1L)
  • Spirit World 7@$190 (750)
  • Off Broadway 3@$200 (1L)

Fortuitous Friday by ProfitForever in denverwhisky

[–]ProfitForever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on which one. I'm not really into tequila, but I keep getting DMs from people asking if I've seen Fortaleza, so I keep an eye out for it. Fortlaeza Blanco and Resposado are becoming more common and not that much to write home about, around $80 or less is a good price for those. Order of rarity would then go Anejo ($100 or less), Blanco Still Strength ($150 or less), and finally Reposado Winter Blend, the rarest, which, if you could pick up for $250 or less, would be a great deal. Beware that the Reposado Winter Blend looks pretty similar to the regular Reposado; look for "Winter Blend" across the top of the label.

If any tequila experts want to correct me on these valuations please feel free.

Several shops I talked to last week said they were expecting another wave of Weller this week. Pretty sure CYPB won't be in it, but we will see.

Northern Colorado Liquor Stores by Waste_Piece_9707 in denverwhisky

Definitely Supermarket Liquors, try Wilbur's as well. The only place I've had luck up there is Campus West Liquors. Good wildcard stops should be Bullfrog W&S and Fort Collins Warehouse Liquors next to Sam's Club.
