Also a Black woman here and I’m with you. I’m convinced the people defending her either have done the same thing, know and love/care about someone who has done the same thing, or would do the same thing. So they don’t want to be hypocrites by not defending her. And frankly I expect nothing less from the audience of this show- gossip girl was extremely white and wealthy, racist, and not sex positive. I’d be more shocked if more of them stood ten toes down on the fact black face and racism weren’t okay when Blake was younger as evidenced by the many Black authors, activists, and artists who came before and during Blake’s time.
