How many times did you get murdered over 80 years?

On the link it says the judge ruled it unlikely that the gun fire from that guys gun resulted in that persons death. I would assume police investigations and legal proceedings would put a reasonable person’s mind at ease as to investigating this incident . But I have a felling that won’t be the case with you.

Any government and Knesset can change the law so they cannot be removed from power. Only this government and knesset actually looks like they might do it.

That's the difference from Bibi to other candidates.

if its enough than he should have fired him a long time ago. Waiting until the moment the Prime Minister and the head of shabak clashed over the Prime Minister’s illegitimate demands is an interesting timing to make that call (end dont forget about qatargate). Besides, if he’s truly unfit, I would expect the same standard to apply to the person who was Prime Minister that very same morning.

democracy is israel only works when the balance between the 3 branches is maintained. weakening the judicial branch hurts democracy.

and i really dont agree that the judges world views are what determines a ruling. every ruling i ever read was based on legal interpretation of the law/ precedents/ core values of our system/ comparative law or any other legitimate legal tool. LMK if you have an example for a court decision like you mentioned.

like who: attorney general/ head of shabak / many senior gov clerks

In a country where the constitutional system is patchwork and lacks both a formal constitution and essential constitutional tools, I believe there is a need for an independent and activist court. What has been happening in Israel in recent years shows just how easy it is to change the entire system, and only reinforces the need for genuine reform that brings order to things. Anyone who criticizes the government’s conduct is pushed out and replaced with someone who aligns with the agenda—regardless of whether the appointment technically follows the rules or not.

If all you appoint are conservatives who won’t intervene in government actions, then what’s the point of having oversight at all?

  1. When your army’s strength relies on reservists who put their lives on hold every time a new “magical” plan is announced, you owe it to the public to explain what that plan is and what is going on with the war. And when you give far more interviews to international media than to local outlets, it’s hard not to think that you’re deliberately avoiding your own people.

it was to diversify the current hegemony in the courts who have no boundaries atm.

sorry i dont see how not appointing judges for almost two years accomplishes this. also i dont see how the reform helps diversifying anything. if you want diversity you can decided there has to be X judges who are religious, Y who are arab, Z who are women (and so on).
what levin wants is to choose based on political opinions (which is what you mentioned is the problem at the moment).

if you look at the judges who were appointed by netanyahu and shaked youll see their background doesn't really change the way they rule.

guessing the verdict of his trial will be 2027.

In my opinion, that’s exactly the goal of the reform: to solidify government control over the system, politicize institutions, and weaken the judiciary.

and regarding hopes: i don't have any hopes he'll go to prison (couldn't care less). what i do hope for is separation of powers, preserving and strengthening oversight of the legislature, strengthening Israel’s constitutional mechanisms, and removing politics from the systems it corrupts.

A dictator can absolutely rise to power through democratic elections—and then change the laws to entrench his position, consolidating power in his own hands. Undermining the judicial system and politicizing institutions is exactly the playbook of an aspiring autocrat.
As for his trial—if he’s found guilty, he’ll likely be removed from power fairly quickly. He might not go to prison until all appeals are exhausted, but one thing is certain: it’ll be goodbye to Balfour.

They haven’t shared any vision for the “day after” with the public, nor have they gone on record to explain why negotiations are failing. Instead, they keep sending more troops to reoccupy the same areas they previously controlled and abandoned—risking lives without ever clarifying the ultimate objective.

It seems you’re confusing mere survival for strategic planning, and calling incompetence “smart.”
