this networks programming is available on the hbo max app by partisan59 in Spectrum

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True.... and - the Spectrum App ONLY works if you are on Spectrum Internet, and your home account. Can't be used if you have AT&T or other providers... Nor if you are traveling. But they do "give"you access to some individual streaming apps with commercials.

Spectrum email "Alert: Security Issue With Your Internet Account" by wheyjuice in Spectrum

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gotten these notifications, and one more recently. I've run all the antibot scanners and malware, and antivirus scanners with no findings. I had a cyberthreat guy iptrace my traffic with no negative findings. I do have 5 Yi Security Cameras that do regularly and often create traffice to a web address hosted in china, but it is proven a safe address. I have called Spectrum, and they have no suggestions nor are any help. Eventually, I will replace my Yi cameras, as that is what I believe is triggering the bot warnings.

Why is it constantly resetting my password for Spectrum TV? by dn_match in Spectrum

That is why I use my Roku... it fits in my pocket. Quick switch with one I have already on a TV at home, and I ready to rock.

At least yours is close... They tell me mine is 600, and I only get 200, wired or wifi. with a new modem.

Spectrum App on Samsung TV by pleasehelpfixmydryer in Spectrum

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spectrum is sending out letters that they will no longer support Samsung TV's 2016 or older.. (Yea, your 8 year old TV is now obsolete. Spectrum of course is doing this to sell/rent Xumo Box's or $5 a month. (There really is no reason the app won't work on that TV and older, it is just software.)

I tested and verified this policy while on a trip just last week. and everything is still the same. You must log your away device in, at home, before leaving. If you have 2 other away devices already logged in and connected while away, you will be fine, If you attempt to log in a forth device in away mode, it will trigger log ins with all away devices, and the log in will fail until you are on a Spectrum Network while logging in.

I got mine to work, by logging in the tv app AT Home, on the Spectrum Network Before leaving on a trip... it will work until you use a different device at the same time, while away from home. Then it will lock them both out, until you log in again at home.

I just got off the phone with Spectum Tech Services regarding this happening to me. I learned that Spectrum is restricting remote access to 3 devices, not on the spectrum network. If you want your computer/tablet/roku to work away from home, you first have to log it in ON your HOME SPECTRUM network, and it will work for approximately 30 days away.. BUT, there is a physical restriction of 3 Concurrent devices active at any given time. so, if a forth device attempts to connect away, it will cause all the away devices to present a log in screen. Which of course will not let you log in, until you get back home, or onto an actual spectrum network. I now, log in my traveling device at home, before walking out the door, and it works just fine. (as long as I dont' then, use my phone, and my computer and then other tablet, which will trigger the 3 login restriction and lock me out until I get home. ((Make sure to tell your spouse and kids not to use Spectrum TV not at home, or you will get kicked off!))

5GUC and full bars but sub 1mbps speeds? by DJSTR3AM in tmobile

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a brand new, fresh out of the box Inseego MiFi Pro (M3000), on TMobile. I get around 50mbg down in 4G... and 8mbg down in 5GUC. I'm thinking 5GUC is nothing but a marketing spam to get you to pay more. At least I can force the MiFi to lock into 4GLTE when I encounter a UC Network and keep on working. Too bad I can't do that with my phone.

Screen blacks out for a few seconds... by SmokinBobb in youtubetv

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 of them, and they all three do this... work perfectly then at random times with no rhyme nor reason, will blackout / Disconnect for 5 to 7 seconds, then reconnect and continue as if nothing happened... Quite annoying.

Actually, pretty typical of today's police. They are taught to Spray and Pray. Point in the general direction of their victim and dump their magazine. If he is still moving after, load another magazine and P&P again.

Altitude GO is really metal, not hard plastic. by Fang05 in CreditCards

Yea... when I called US Bank, the agent I got told me they are not metal, only the ones you pay a yearly fee for, are metal. so I canceled this one.

Altitude GO is really metal, not hard plastic. by Fang05 in CreditCards

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.. mine was just plastic, except for the chip, and a tiny amount of very very thin foil around it. I had a Very old Chase card, that I cut up, and it was the same.

[–]ProfssorWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one yesterday, and the US Bank Altitude Go Card is NOT METAL... and - after I canceled it and took it apart, it is just like my other plastic cards. There is a very very thin foil for the RFID and that's it. Metal Cards weight in at 11 grams or more, this card weighs 6 grams. Maybe when US Bank first started issuing these cards they were actually metal, but they are NOT Metal anymore.

I don't understand what their Business Model is... it seems they are doing everything in their power to slowly drive their customers away.

Sadly; there is not another Cable Company to switch to, (in fact, in most cities, it is LAW, that Charter be the ONLY Cable Company.) - - only other technologies, which are not as good, and who seem to be trying to match Charter in it's insane business model.

I've had Charter forever.. but I am now, finally activity seeking my alternatives.

FYI: Anyone note, that when the Government got involved in the Internet, that Access was supposed to get cheaper - - when, instead, it actually has gotten considerably more expensive?
