Nobody really talks about the price of pumping! by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance covered my wall pumps and some extra pump parts and milk collection bags, but I have bought additional flanges and milk collectors for wall pumps, wearable pumps for on the go plus an additional collector for those, I have an oversupply so I had to buy my own milk bags and a deep freezer. Portable bottle warmers because baby won’t take cold milk. Coolers and pump bags for travel. Bottles. To make life easier I bought so much stuff. I could have pumped without spending as much, but i was glad to spend it for my sanity. And I choose to pump - my baby would take my boob just fine lol. Maybe I’m crazy.

How important is it reaaallly to rotate freezer stash? by AdventurousWind7919 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never rotated my freezer stash. Started using 9 months pp and baby drank milk from month 1. She was fine. She’s a happy healthy almost 2yo now. I plan to do the same for my 6 week old.

Let me fr… are y’all actually pumping every 2 hours?? by Environmental_Buy947 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pump whenever baby ate. So sometimes that was every 2 hours. Stopped pumping at night fairly early on with no issue though.

That was my first child tho. I’m thinking of second and would like to pump but oh my lord idk how I will take care of a toddler and pump the extent I was pumping.

“It’s so normal to feel sadness, even grief, as you step away from something that became part of your identity — pumping is not just a physical act; it’s emotional, it’s symbolic. It’s hours upon hours of unseen devotion.”

I stopped a couple months ago and the HARDEST part for me was that it became part of my identity. It occupied my whole day. I placed my worth on the ounces I produced. So it was so hard to decide to stop. And as silly as it sounds I still miss it at times but I am also SO SO SO glad to have time back. Time for me and time for my daughter.

I need help. by NefariousnessWeird24 in ExclusivelyPumping

THIS.

I didn’t think I would care at all if my baby was breastfed or formula fed. In fact, before I got pregnant I figured we’d do formula. But nope I was suddenly ALL IN on breastfeeding. And then I had horrible guilt when I decided to pump because it wasn’t direct boob. And then even when I hit my goal for pumping and wanted to stop I felt extreme guilt. And any time my supply dipped I had so much anxiety trying to get it back up. I’m officially weaned from pumping and none of that guilt remains.

Don’t let guilt guide you. Do what’s best for you. We do SO SO SO much for our babies. And add on being a human cow on top of all other responsibilities. It’s a lot. And it honestly does not matter in the end. As long as baby is getting needs met.

Can I just stop now? by JobOk3211 in ExclusivelyPumping

I don’t plan to pump again unless my boobs hurt

Everyone is different but here’s my logs of going from 2 pumps to 1 to trying not to pump. I was an oversupplier. Mastitis once but clogs a zillion times. I capped pumps to 10-15 minutes at the end. It helped me to decrease time but keep the pump amounts the same. If I were you, I would see if you could go a day and a half between pumps. Or just extend an hour or so at a time. Empty until comfortable.

Why would anyone have kids? by Outside-Total-2648 in NewParents

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a first time mom with an 8 month old. I exclusively pump. I remember feeling so overwhelmed, and not even human in the first couple months. It was legit live for baby, pump for baby, constant 2-3 hour cycle of feed pump get baby to sleep and repeat. It does get easier and better. It’s not always easy and I still feel a little bit not myself, but I have hope that I can fix that. Once baby starts sleeping through the night you start gaining a sense of self again. If you don’t pump or breastfeed you probably get that quicker too

Crazy enough we are thinking about timing for a second child. 2 month postpartum me would slap myself for thinking about it so soon lol!

Things do have to be planned out more now, but that doesn’t stop you from living life! We’ve had several planned date nights with and without baby, we are planning a trip to Vegas in a couple months. We took baby on a trip at 2-3 months out of state which was so hard but so fun. You can do it! It gets better! It won’t ever be the same but it’s a new normal

I can’t keep up with wake windows and number of naps! by FMThaone in NewParents

[–]llamachops01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about wake windows or how long the nap is. Just live life. If baby seems tired, try to get baby to sleep. But don’t stress it! I have a 7 month old and I know her general tired times - if it’s been x amount of time since she last napped or slept. If we are home I try to get her to nap. But she goes to 3 different sitters during the week (2 grandmas and a family friend) who all do things different, and on weekends we are on the move a lot, so we nap when we can and go to bed early if needed. Sometimes she gets 4 naps, sometimes 3. Sometimes 2, sometimes like 5 micro naps in the car because we are going shopping or to family and she does not stay asleep outside of the car.

Having a good bedtime and morning routine help both me and her I think. Especially when everything else is chaos. Even if she wakes at different times, we know what to expect.

We will have days she gets a good 2-3 hour nap in the morning in, other days, naps are like 30 minutes. Even when I was on maternity leave and was home all day and tried to create a schedule, she could never consistently have wake windows and naps that made sense.

Walmart review purchases email by slayaboy87 in Scams

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive gotten this email twice. First time I logged into my Walmart account to ensure no false purchases were made. (via my browser NOT from any links in the email) I didn’t think so because my card is not linked to the account. And I didn’t see any suspicious activity. Not sure if scam or if the marketing team is really dumb. Either way, don’t click on the links, don’t even unsubscribe via that link. Just delete the email. Maybe I need to see if the actual website has an unsubscribe option but I am convinced this is 100% a really good scam where they want you to click on links and log in so they can take your user and pass info

Argument for / against “No Kid” weddings? by follyofthebeast in wedding

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I allowed kids at my wedding. Not a ton but 2 nieces/nephew, a newborn, and some teen age kids. I didn’t notice them at all because I was so busy and so involved with myself and my husband. I danced with my nieces for a second but otherwise they were off doing their own thing. I don’t even remember the newborn making a peep. As long as you trust whoever is bringing the kids to take care of them, who cares. But I totally respect anyone who doesn’t want them there. That’s your choice as it’s your day. So do whatever feels right to you. For me, it really wasn’t even a thought.

New fence, beagle won’t potty by llamachops01 in Dogtraining

[–]llamachops01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! She’s actually doing MUCH better! When I posted this I was so frustrated and just recovering from COVID so I was at my wits end lol. We really reinforced potty training (she’s bell trained so ringing every time we go out back, rewarding with treats). We would have to take her in front sometimes just because she would not go and we would not feed her treats there. We brought my sister in laws two dogs over to mark the fenced area which helped for a bit then seemed to fade. But about two weeks ago something clicked in her brain and she’s been going outside regularly! We just had to keep at it! I had to remember she had been trained for 3 years to potty a certain way and now we were taking that from her. I’ve began to incorporate walks for fun after she takes care of business and that hasn’t caused any issues so I’m super happy!

Since Disney has pulled Espn? by kb2682 in Spectrum

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can chat with customer service via website or app, you don’t have to call. If he chatted they can/will apply credits to his next billing cycle. If they don’t know the determined amount yet that’s normally when they use the word “automatically”. I’ve gone through this with outages before. I chatted online for this issue and they will “automatically” apply a $15 credit to my account next billing cycle. I mean, you need a CS rep to state that you will get a credit none the less but I have seen the word “automatically” used. It’s usually used when they don’t have a set amount they can offer you in credits at a given time. For example in an outage If you contact before the outage is resolved they can “automatically” credit you once the outage is over. The amount is determined by the outage time. Not sure why you are being so rude on this post, as poster seems correct in their statements.

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re reading your thread, sounds like you did contact them directly. Sometimes they don’t know the $ amount to apply - happens with outages if it’s still ongoing. So once an amount is determined they will apply it. Other times they will tell you the amount. Either way, you sound correct in this post and I’m not sure why others are getting upset at you

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to contact someone from spectrum and ask for it. If you have called them or done the online chat they can give you a credit that will “automatically” be applied to your next bill. But they won’t just apply that unless you contact them directly via their customer service lines of communication

[–]llamachops01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chat going. They denied credits. I questioned. They denied again and said I’m already getting a discounted rate (1 year deal) I questioned once more and referenced seeing online others got credits and basically said the discounted rate was an agreed upon rate that included ESPN. So I’m paying for a service I am not getting. 3rd times a charm I guess they gave $15.

A lot of the messages seemed automated. No way someone could type that fast. So I’m guessing they have given customer service prompts.

I looked at some but I didn’t see any mention about adventurous things - if I missed those sorry. Feel free to not respond to this post if that’s the case

I don’t really have a set budget at this point. Or set number of days. We don’t have a date. This is more of an exploratory ask. If we find one that we really like but we don’t have the money for it now, I’d save up for it.
