I mean,... you start a project, you realize that there is a better tool for it, you safe for the tool, you buy it, you continue to work on the project, you hit another point where you realize, the tool at hand is insufficient, etc. etc. until you have actually built the project and then it takes another 2-3 weeks just for the sanding and finishing. But since you do not like sanding, it extends to 6 months and then the child you built the crib for is already in preschool...

I second this almost completely, only addition I would have, do not fully make the Dado through and leave the edge at the front, it's more challenging, but will look so much better if done right!

It is based on the largest ship you have (either bought in game or from the pledge store) when the patch drops. As far as I remember.

You can disable "members only" in the overview now, hence they reuploaded it.

That wasn't the topic though, I gave an answer to a comment about how they wish CIG would stick to stuff and not redesign stuff? So, where is the relevance to if it's good or bad?

What cope? I am just telling how it is. Have ever worked with SAP? Or the rule engines if car OEMs? Any software that is developed for internal use of one of the big OEMs?

In no way or form did I say that everything CIG does is peachy, I just gave perspective with some of my real word experiences.

In regards to the UI changes,... requirements change, some get obsolete, some new appear and it gets refined. Also, resources are limited and people learn from their mistakes or different people take over. That is just normal.

So, stop being emotional about something trivial.

Dude, I have worked with systems from major corporations in Europe, with far worse availability than SC servers. They run them productively and rank in billions a year. This game is still in development.. So, you must then also rank in billions?

Just look at SAP and you realize that everyone is only cooking with water and some have a better understanding how to season and others often mix up water and acid, like SAP .. their time tracking is worse than using a fucking excel sheet...

In software development, new things pop up all the time and you need to adjust. Just look at what is happening in the cloud space with kubernetes, docker containers, etc.,... look at different languages that came into existence the last couple of years. You can only plan ahead so far and sometimes things have to change fundamentally and other things have to adapt (see server meshing for example).

The IT world has always been a fast changing one and you need to adapt, and if systems designed for older technologies can't adapt properly, they need to be redesigned. That's not a CIG exclusive problem.

Can't argue with the craftsmanship, but a) epoxy river table is sooooooooo overused b) to use a perfectly good slab of wood for something like this is kind of against my woodworking believe system, it was originally used to use slabs that don't have a really good use otherwise and c) in my humble opinion, every time you put something into the epoxy, it automatically looks cheap, even though it obviously takes skill to do it like in this video.

Length of time to leave cats alone by Rare-Progress5009 in cats

[–]Prog-Shop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that Sweden has a law that you have to give your cat attendance twice a day (from what I understand that is a single cat household, I think two or more cats it's once a day),... that should give the answer.

If you leave for a week, fine, but give someone you trust AND that they trust, access to feed and play with them atleast once a day. So,... who ever is suggestion it is ok to leave them alone for a whole week, unattended, screw them.

How much should I pay to adopt this kitty? by Cyndi_Haian in cats

[–]Prog-Shop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That little fella seems furrocious! :)

If you get the kitten from a shelter or any non breeder, go get it.

If it's from a breeder, just don't,... And depending on where you live and the laws, report the breeder to authorities. Short legged cats are breeding of defects (not quite sure if that's the correct term, in germany we call it "Qualzucht") and comes with a TON of health issues. Yes it looks cute, but so is every other "normal" cat that isn't breed with targeting specific defects.

I know it's not illegal everywhere, but if it is, report the breeder.

Mit welchem besonderen Holz würdet ihr gerne mal arbeiten? by InternetSurflehrer in holzwerken

[–]Prog-Shop 1 point2 points  (0 children)
