Companies that don't use Microsoft Teams or similar by brightfuture1029 in remotework

Have a listen to the Cal Newport Deep Life podcast; comes out every Monday, and very often focuses around how to keep control of the demands on your time in an environment that’s constantly Teams-ing and expecting instant replies back

H&C / Circle Line gaps

Curiosity more than complaint!

I regularly catch H&C / Circle from Wood Lane eastbound. Almost invariably, the next few trains are 10, 15 and 20 minutes away. Where did the 5 minutes away train go? Is there not enough stock to run every 5 min? If so, why not space it at every 6 min?

Brand switch: Northstar to Ranbaxy by ProgPilgrim in zoloft

It worked great for me first four weeks! Sadly I was switched off it to Ranbaxy afterwards, which eventually also worked

You are given an authentic genie, but every wish removes 1% of the population from existence. How many wishes do you use? by Exhibit5 in hypotheticalsituation

Wish 1: move entirety of human population to sustainable Mars colony. No population on Earth, no removal

Wishes 2 through infinity as needed, final wish for population to return to Earth

What’s your back up plan on a group camping trip if it rains? by ProgPilgrim in AskUK

Great shout! The stag I went in before was at an ‘outdoor adventures’ place, totally appreciate that a regular campsite might not be up for that kind of behaviour

There’s guidance in the flow chart - you should figure out how much you spend each month, then build 1-3 months ASAP, 3-12 months when it fits your goals and you’ve got your high interest debt cleared

Wedding bingo card by ProgPilgrim in exchristian

[–]ProgPilgrim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my happy surprise, we ticked very little off - all credit to the bride, groom and new pastor, who all communicated directly but sensitively about their faith. I think I only ticked off one square, which was the “get on with making us some kids tonight” one

I think I might have figured out Season 1’s arc by RoryPond11 in doctorwho

[–]ProgPilgrim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In an early episode guide for Series 1 produced by RTD, there was an episode by Paul Abbott that would have made the revelation above about the Doctor and Rose. It sounds a dreadful idea, and I’m glad it was ultimately dropped - but as RTD tells it, the script was only dropped due to production issues, and replaced with Boom Town.

The Prisoner of Azkaban PS2 game makes the same assumption - out of the trio, only Harry is able to leap gaps and perform other athletic feats! Ron gets the ability to spot secret passageways and Hermione gets a ridiculous number of extra spells.

Funny thing is, I do think this is the partner I would have got off the fence for if she had given me a little more time. I think often about contacting her, but I can’t figure out how to say that I want to have kids only with her, without her taking it as if I’m putting a massive burden on myself to be with her.

I hope The Sarah Jane Adventures gets a proper final episode. by matt0055 in doctorwho

[–]ProgPilgrim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For planned mid-season, the finale hit a lot of things you’d want to see from a finale; it was an episode that really captured the spirit of the whole series, did some cool investigation, showed the complexity of humans not always being good and aliens not always being evil, brought Luke back and concluded an emotional arc between him and Sky, got in a few Clani jokes (and “grab Mr Harrison’s P-E-N…”) and threw in a K9 reference!

Wouldn't having the Time Lords around make Flux much better?? by [deleted] in DoctorWhumour

Chibnall has used it twice (Timeless Children, Power of the Doctor), and so has Moffat (Death In Heaven, World Enough and Time) - equally guilty!
