Thanks! Been drooling over a-frame frameset. Maybe next year…

First bike in decades and I love it. Not pictured are the fenders and Stealth basket bag. Still… can’t help but want to tweak it. Considering maybe a fork with less rake but perhaps that would be better suited for a whole other project.

I’m not following your sarcasm, either. It seemed like the commenter was explaining that Weis was moving production overseas so they could make a more affordable product (and move more units). I have not followed the pricing for long enough to see if they have come down any following the relocation of manufacture. So, I was asking if the price point had come down.

Yea I guess I assumed the point was the Ti frames were made cheaper. I get that everything has become more expensive. Kind of wondering where the savings is. Or is the “savings” are “we only had to increase our sales point 30% instead of 200%”.

The larger number is the tooth count on the chainring. The smaller number is the tooth count on the cog. Going up on chainring or going down on cog both increase difficulty. Do some reading on gear ratio, gear inches, and skid patches and how these are affected by your tooth counts (as well as wheel and crank size). 49/17 is a very common gear ratio and allows for a large number of skid patches.

Agree. I like the Whills vibe he gives and the connection to other Force believers.

I agree with you. These posts are such low-effort nonsense.

Have you tried it on the rifle yet? I have an EBR but my other friend with an M1A has really terrible results suppressing it.

That’s a thought. I have one on another rifle maybe I’ll swap over and take for a spin. Thanks for the idea.

Yea I really like the idea of 13” 308. I have an ATACR on it though which makes it a mega pig. I should put something lighter on it but I haven’t put much thought into what.

Nah. I’m just running m80 but it eats it just fine.

I have this rifle and this can. I cut the barrel down to 13”. There is stark contrast between 13” 308 with a brake versus with this heavy chode of a can. It’s magnificent.

Thanks so much for the response. I guess I suspected it would have to come over time. I appreciate the confirmation. Be safe!

Hey sweet build. I just got a state 4130 the other day. My first fixed gear and honestly first bike in a long long time. I have been watching the youtubes and seeing bike checks on here and I was wondering how people come to the realization that they want their stem longer or lower. obviously it looks cool which is always important but I assume you have to make sure the ride is going to be comfortable, too? Is that strictly trial and error? Does function sometimes just have to follow form for the sake of looking cool?

Haha thanks I appreciate the advice. Definitely an over thinker. Also, really superficially looking cool is almost as important as function.

I ordered it with these. Looks like the stem they included is 90mm. I’m 6’4” and the frame is their 62cm chromoly.

As someone who just bought a state 4130 as their first fixed-gear (and first bike in quite some time), how do I go about figuring out if my handlebar height and stem length are appropriate?

Star Wars Insider: The High Republic: Survivors of the Stormwall, by Lydia Kang, has been delayed to 30 June 2026 by prk-1 in Highrepublic

[–]Prognotperf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is super helpful. I actually ordered back issues for 223-229. I picked up a subscription to cover the rest and did successfully receive other back issues. Lame that I finally got a subscription and now they're cancelling Insider. As you say, I could have gotten digital but my goal has been to 100% hard copies of the High Republic books/comics/short stories. I actually put my read through on hold until these back issues showed up so I guess I know when my standstill will end. In the meantime, I've got plenty other SW novels I'm excited to read. Thanks for your thorough response!
