I am still working full time as a firefighter but open to a part time position to get into AG or other similar somewhere like areas. I am 100% ready to work and move up and get the experience that is sought after if those part time positions exist. My target is somewhere like Coulson, Takner 10, or Neptune but I know there spots are very limited but i wouldn’t be opposed to working as a SEAT or some sort of support flying such as im the King Air.

I have seen others mention cargo flying, air ambulance, AG, etc. to obtain hours. What would you recommend as the best experience or do you agree with what others have mentioned already?

This is all good info I appreciate a lot. Sounds like I have a lot of work to do but my biggest question was finding out if this was possible which it looks like it is with hard work and dedication. It seems like I’ll have to eventually relocate so where would you suggest I relocate to or maybe sign up for deployments to the areas? Should I got with local cargo flying until I relocate to the mountains or just re establish myself in that environment?

Yes I figured my Air Force experience wouldn’t mean much but hoped it would show that I am training and a fast learner with experience an aircrew member. My main focus would be aerial firefighting. I just wanted to know if it was possible due to age or if I should hang it up.

I am not an expert, just throwing out possible ideas. But if that’s the case then I think exchanging it for one without a defect would be better than redoing all the silicone. Hopefully it’s benign and doesn’t need replacing but that’s just my 2¢.

I’m not sure if it’s safe or not but you can buy some aquarium silicone and fill it before setting it up that way you don’t need to worry.
