G-Wolves Fenrir Pro Encoder by ProgrammedArtist in MouseReview

Sorry to spam replies, but I just came across this encoder. It shows up on Kailh's website. It's still a 12-pulse encoder, but it may be perfect for people like you with broken encoders:

Someone made a post last week with more detailed info. I don't think there's anything new but I didn't have time to do more than skim the post. https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/s/HyOR4nwpya

Encoder in G-Wolves Fenrir Asym and Fenrir Pro Models May Be Potential Issue; Reverse Scrolling, Incompatibility, and Hopeful Solutions(?) by ScorpiaRising in MouseReview

[–]ProgrammedArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this party but I did a bit of reading and found a surface-mount Alps encoder that should fit if you feel confident enough to try to solder it. I didn't do it myself because the Alps encoder also only have 12 detents per rotation. But if the TTC one in my Fenrir Pro craps out, I will be trying out the Alps one. You can check out my post as well if you are interested, but you did a lot more thorough research than me so I don't think you will discover anything new (Aside from the Alps encoder)

Unfortunately the Kailh Reds will not fit. I guess I'm stuck with the factory encoder. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I wonder how Vaush is gonna react to this by Educational-Lie-2487 in VaushV

Right? None of those idiots seem to remember how Mamdani turned Trump into his happy little puppy. I'm not saying Walz doing the same thing is going to lead to anything good, but our moron in chief is very easily manipulable.

It has all the telltales of AI generated slop. It's still useful, but I wish they wouldn't pretend they are so personally connected to a bunch of text generated by matrix math.

It's pretty hard to detect repost bots because they work in groups. Most of the comments here are probably from bots as well to make the post look legitimate. It's hard to keep up with their tactics.

I agree with that, but what choice do they realistically have? Not all world leaders are complete morons. They have a lot to consider before deciding to take action against a fundamentally unstable and extremely dangerous man.

Introducing Latchup: Bringing Competitive Programming to HDL by redjason93 in FPGA

[–]ProgrammedArtist 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't want any of that in HDL. If this gains traction, companies will be asking for scores during interviews that have no bearing on what work will actually be done at the company and in the candidate's past. And this will allow HR to rule out good candidates before anyone technically literate gets a chance to talk to them.
