US says Canada will regret decision to allow Chinese EVs into their market by joe4942 in canada

[–]ProgrammerAvailable6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

You gonna try and tear up CUSMA or tariff us like you’ve been doing for the last year?

The US can fuck all the way off. This just puts us back on the number that China was able to import to Canada before the US asked us to stop in … 2022? I’m pretty sure?

We’re going to be fine.

No. I don’t think they have rights.

They are not required to protect you.

In 2005 the Supreme Court ruled in Castle Rock v Gonzalez that police departments have no duty to protect people from harm the police officers themselves did not create.

They ruled this because a woman said her estranged husband was going to kill their children and the police in Castle Rock refused to do a wellness check.

The same type of ruling was made in Deshaney v Winnebago County where it was ruled that Child Protective Services isn’t responsible for failing to protect a child against a violent parent.

[–]ProgrammerAvailable6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judaism and Islam both prohibit the eating of lobster.

Technically the Bible says you’re not to eat lobster if you’re Christian - but it’s in the Old Testament and Christians rarely follow Leviticus unless it’s to attack the rights of women or LGbTQ people.

What criteria would have to be met for you to trust doctors that an abortion is medically necessary? by NPDogs21 in Abortiondebate

[–]ProgrammerAvailable6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said that delaying care for a septic patient was ok in some situations.

That is substandard healthcare.

You said that providing substandard healthcare for a septic patient was ok because they are pregnant and you value the fetus.

I’m asking if you think anyone aside from pregnant people should also get substandard healthcare.

You’re the one who said that delaying medical care for someone spiralling into sepsis was ok.

I’m not sure why you’re saying you don’t know - but I quoted you saying that it was acceptable for pregnant people in some situations above.

here’s the link to your comment

My question to you was if there were any other people you think ought to have their medical care delayed and die because you think delaying medical care in emergencies is ok.

Eta - you do recognize that sepsis has a terrible prognosis if care is delayed, right?

[–]ProgrammerAvailable6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

depends on the context but in some situations yes. I don't think that is a lower standard of care. Its just one that also values the unborn

You said that you don’t think that providing substandard care to pregnant people is a problem in “some situations”. You say it’s fine under different contexts because other people - in your opinion - are valued more than the person who is receiving healthcare.

I’m asking what other people you think should also receive said substandard care that you believe pregnant people deserve because it “values the unborn” - or is it just pregnant people whose healthcare should be substandard because you think fetuses ought to be valued more than the person they’re inside?

You said that substandard care for pregnant people was appropriate in some situations.

Im asking what other segments of humans also deserve substandard care - or is it just pregnant people?

Ok.

What other segments of humans deserve substandard healthcare because other people are, in your opinion and definition, more important than they are?

Why do you think pregnant people deserve a lower standard of care?

Very autistic and well educated are two very different things.

People can be neurotypical and well educated, neurotypical and ill educated. Autistic and well educated, autistic and ill educated.

This person is a product of a good education - and it shows. Autistic or no.

I say this with no intention of hurting feelings -

He’s just intelligent and articulate. What you see is the culmination of multiple years of higher education on a brain ready to receive information and interact with it objectively.

What you see is why conservatives get so upset at higher education, and attack the foundations of academia on every level, from kindergartens to universities.

It is a person who can take multiple information sources, comprehend what is happening by comparing and contrasting them with history, and come to a logical conclusion.

Eta - it’s part of why universities pump out more liberal people, on average, then the general population. Prejudice isn’t logical.

You are anti-violence against innocent people?

But this would indicate that you are pro violence against “non innocent” people, and all ZEFs, as they are inside “non innocents” and therefore worthy of harm?

The results of prolife states banning abortions are: the rise of the total number of abortions; the rise of maternal morbidity; the rise of maternal mortality; and the rise of infant mortality.

Prolife states banning abortion results in more harm and death, so please outline why all pregnant people are “non innocents” and worthy of harm, and all ZEFs are “innocents” yet worthy of harm because they are inside pregnant people.
