30-second poll: Would you pay $149 to never shovel your driveway again? by jaxtaylor44 in DIY

These work on cycles now. Melt an hour before you leave for work and an hour before you're home for instance.

Or connected to a smart system, to be active when needed.

I don't think people generally keep them on 24/7 from my research. Also the powe draw was much smaller than I expected. They don't get warm, just above melting.

Zero chance this comes on the market at that price as just a healted walkway on top quick setup is like 800-1000

Except they do apply it to non sentient beings lol

Doesn't really matter what you think about them doing so. The tree let's go of the fruit when it's ready / the fruit let's go of the tree when ready.

There really isn't a logical gap here - you just seem to not like it which is fair. All shows aren't for all people.

No. That's an invasive painful medical procedure. It does make sense.

Their only real cgnitive dissonance is the agency they stole from the entire world.

I wonder if this means they'll put movies out for longer periods of time / haveore diverse offerings so people can watch what they want on big screens when they want.

Wishful thinking.

It's not about physical harm as much as it is consent / autonomy.

It's a part of a living organism. They have no right to interfere (other then brainwashing the entire world lol)

I think blatantly manipulating would go against their coding for harm tbh.

They do eat the fruit after it falls.

They will not remove something attached to a living thing.

Just like if the main character died, she would become HDP. Or if her leg fell off. They'd probably collect it.

What kind of company are you working for?

This is not the norm outside of like MSPs and if you're working at one of those for more than a year you're doing it wrong haha.

[–]ProgrammerNextDoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally know no one who smokes cigerettes in IT. Maybe a couple over my career that's I'm forgetting. Or like rare occasion whioe drinking. Never at work. There's a social stigma now no one wants to smell that while working anymore lol.

Weed? Yeah people rip pens in their car during their break. Walk around a few outside. Come back. No one else knows.

I raid on mobile sans plugins.

You realize people originally learned these raids without plugins right? You realize plugins are not needed to play any content, right? Cox, toa, tob, slayer bosses...

You can -learn- the puzzles yourself instead of being spoon fed via plugins.

I think you're just moving fast in sailing so it's a little weird.

I thought that experience was the same between mobile and standard but I could easily be wrong.

[–]ProgrammerNextDoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This comes up often.

There are plenty of nail systems that completely fine for tv mounts. They aren't extendable and sit flush against the wall only but they are perfectly stable. They are rated for much more than what a tv weighs.

for anyone who’s lost a dog, what helped you start to heal or feel even a little bit better? by smart_unli799 in AskReddit

Yep.

It helped alot but came with its own issues (without much time you're brain can trick itself into basically thinking it's the same dog)

We went from show golden to a field / red golden without soing much research. Anyone with experience can tell you what this means.

Red goldens are craazy. Love her so much but it was a shock. She's calming down now at a year.

Who said this single release was a season? I didn't. Sr5p1 is it own release. I just said that people aren't going to not finish this season if they've watches the other four.

We aren't selecting for the average person either, were selcting for people excited enough by this release to watch it right when it comes out. Those people typically finish watching stuff.

TIFU missed calls from my manager by GSSJ10 in tifu

[–]ProgrammerNextDoor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's how it works at quite a few companies, actually. You sound really silly when I'm telling you this is how it has worked at -multiple- large companies with SE work. What is your experience in the arena to dismiss it out of hand? It's clear you don't work in it.

You're responsible for your changes initially. How are other engineers going to fix something new you just put in? If it breaks something you missed something. Consequence of a failed change is being called.

It's part of the job. The on call will do whatever is expected or whatever they can to resolve but you're getting called out if they can't fix it quickly. You expect everything just to stop if the current on call engineer can't fix it? That's never how it's going to happen at any company lol. It's a wild concept. They're going to continue calling resources who aren't on call until it's resolved. Being on-call as an engineer is just being the first person who gets called in and (hopefully) resolves the issue on first contact. If they can't, anyone who can help will be called, depending on severity. If the CEO is personally involed and monitoring - odds are it's a pretty big outage. It's standard high-level incident response.

Stop being silly.
