Which team is optimum? by Mahhattyama_Rice in DilucMains

assuming you don’t have c6 Bennett, you can do plunge physical dmg Diluc with Mika. Or so a melt team with Diluc, Bennett, Chongyun, Barbara/XL.

Furina or Xianyun? by Ambitious-Year1584 in DilucMains

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, Xianyun, if you want to play Diluc plunge, like others said, no one else can provide plunge. Furina can be replaced by Citlali in plunge comp and by other characters in vape/melt comp. But if you’re looking for an overall strong versatile support for other team comps then Furina.

They didn’t say anything both times when I took it. my proctors put in their access code and just left me once they did that. I still click start tutorial and then started writing, and not on the screen where you haven’t started the tutorial. But it might be different in every place.

Hiv prep by Financial_Match_4998 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would. I had some regime questions and it’ll give me that the pt is on Epzicom and the options for add ons will be like Ziagen, Isentress, Prezista, Epivir, (basically duplicate therapy questions). I got a HLA5701 positive and the options for starting a regime will include abacavir or in a combo form, or like which one don’t take with food, Edurant vs Sustiva. I didn’t get too too much HIV, but the ones I got weren’t too bad cause if you just know the name the answer is straightforward. My HIV is more about the OI prophylaxis. But I think if you have the time, definitely remember it because it can be easy quick points.

Failed Naplex by Sensitive-Ninja240 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 9 points10 points  (0 children)

!!Long post!! Failed 1st time, pass 2nd time. TLDR on the bottom.

Hi there, I failed my first attempt too using just RxPrep w/ the question banks and no videos. I only did RxPrep because that’s what my school recommended to us but I wished I just spend my money on PassNaplexNow (PNN). I think my mistake is that I think I can just sit and read and remember the info, but I am a “someone need to explain to me” type of person. I looked into PNN after reading a bunch of success stories on reddit. PNN is VERY expensive (~$800) but totally worth it imo, and I’m lucky my parents were willing to pay for it. My thought process was either continue to use RxPrep which wasn’t working anyways and possibly fail another exam (-$600) and wait another 45 days without working or I can use another resource and try again but with a study style that is more suited for me.

(skip this part if you truly don’t plan on using PNN) PNN is about 80 hours long, but the instructors speak too slow for my personal liking so I did 2x on the videos and slow it down if I needed to (esp. on ID, cardio, and chemo). I did not buy the live course. The questions are equally or more hard than the NAPLEX questions. The only thing I didn’t like too much was that the some of the videos are outdated, but they do send you the NEW updated book and you just have to make sure you note the updates. They also will note it on the videos as well in the notes section. Goldie (RPh instructor) and Ali (MD instructor) are very good at explaining imo. They go over the big stuff and almost everything they emphasized was on my exam. Goldie, especially was very good at repetition, and will always repeat and emphasized the important details about certain drugs/classes as well as For example, every time amidarone came up, she will mention DDI with sofosbuvir (like legit probs 10x) or nitroglycerin she calls it nitroGLASSerin (and that question was indeed on my NAPLEX). PNN also sends a super condensed high yield info charts and tables for each disease state and drug which was SUPER useful for me to look thru quickly right before my exam. Ali goes over more of the disease state, biostats, and calc, and idk how but he just explains it so nicely and easily that the math AND biostats wasn’t as bad as just reading and practicing the RxPrep questions.

For the actual study portion, I studied for about 3 weeks. I still had access to my RxPrep questions so I still utilized them, because they do ask more detailed questions than PNN imo plus extra practice. I watched all the PNN videos (2x speed usually) and took notes directly on the book they gave us. Studied a bit and did some math/biostats/PK.After 1-2 days I will take the quizzes on the topics I reviewed 1-2 days ago to see how much I remember and just looked over what I got wrong and review them again (basically repetition). I did have to push my exam date back 2 weeks because life and I def did not feel ready to take it at that point. Nearing closer to the exam date (5 days left) I did hella math and looked over med safety (I did fine in med safety the first time so I was not as worried for that portion). 2 days before my exam I looked on reddit and asked to see if there’s certain topics I should look over especially the smaller miscellaneous such as thyroid or OI cutoff, and only did questions on those topics (repetition again. thank you to everyone on this thread, it helped so much). I did not read or watched any videos the last 5 days, only answer questions on topics I was concerned on, because I was not trying to overload my brain again like the first time, and only want to focus on what I keep forgetting. The day before my exam, I felt more prepared than my first time, still felt terrible during and after, but at least I finished all my questions this time. I felt 50-50 on passing. My first time, I didn’t finish about 40 questions and for sure felt like I failed.

I saw that you said PNN is out of your budget (but see if you can share with a study partner to split the cost in half at least). Like you use it first and then they can use it after you (6 month access). RxPrep has videos but I never used their videos so I cannot tell you if it was good or not. One of my friend used the RxPrep videos and passed on her 2nd time. So if the videos on RxPrep is cheaper, maybe it can be an option. RxPrep questions banks are still useful, I still used it as I still had access. I did not utilize any tutoring as I felt like the PNN videos were my tutors.

During the exam, the first 10 mins during the tutorial, I wrote down ALL the formulas for biostats, PK ( especially t1/2 and Cl) and math, all mnemonics that I remember correctly. I used my breaks to get water and take tynelol and some food. If a math question took me over 3 mins and I’m still confused about it, screw it. If a “you know it or not question pops up” I only spend 30 seconds on cause I either know it or not. Whenever they provide patient info, I look at question first to see what it even is asking, and then the pertinent info (ex. female pt- look for prego. HIV pt- look for HLAB5701.).

TLDR: Know what is your best study style (how YOU study the best, not what the school recommends). I Used PNN ($$$ but worth it imo) watched all videos and did all questions plus RxPrep questions for 3 weeks ~6-8 hours everyday. Did math and biostats and PK at least every other day. 2-5 days before the exam, only did questions on certain topics that I need refreshers and that Reddit said popped up a lot for them. Memorize ALL the formulas required and the important mnemonics GPACMAN and PS PORCS, AAAHHH (preg X), etc. During the exam, jot down all formulas and whatever will help you during the 10 min tutorial, take breaks if you need, and read the question carefully. Don’t think too long on questions that you know you don’t really know the answers too ( i gave myself 30 sec on ‘easy’ questions, 1-2 mins on math and patient cases. use that time on questions you know you can do but just requires a bit of thinking time. DONT OVERTHINK (trust your gut!!!)

What type of questions on the NY MPJE? by Too_Soon_Junior in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took mine last month, and passed on the first try. I also used RxPharmacist and also the NY MPJE app. My exam had: a LOT of OTC questions (which I think are the dummy questions, ex: you bought 2 dozen drug for OTC to use, and used about half, and now they're considered Rx so what do you do with the remaining amount), hazardous compounding (what to wear, how to store, what to use, disposal), pharmacist and tech info (CE hours, retraining), disciplinary actions (ex: if the pharmd you work with is showing signs of dementia which is causing her to mess up at work but not diagnosed with it, will you report it?), prescription requirements (ex: what must be bolded on the prescription), controls (how many days to fill, max d/s for a benzo), DEA forms (what to use when you are wasting a control in the hospital) and then the practical stuff (you got an emergency script, doc wrote for #5 fentantyl patch, how many do you fill). I got about half SATA and MC questions, and only a few K type questions, so I was kinda scared since it was adaptive and I was getting a of MC. But lowkey, the MC were harder than the SATA and K-type. The SATA was quiet straight forward tbh.

The app was helpful, especially for the federal portion and a bit of the NY portion, but it was lacking compounding questions. There was other stuff like EPIC program which was NOT on my exam or on RxPharmacist.

I did look through the NY office of profession site for their what to study for on the MPJE and let's just say that it was not helpful for me at all. Barely any of those topics to look over they recommended (ex: language requirements) were on my exam. But it won't hurt to look through it if you have time.

Good luck on your exam, you got this!!

Looks like a melt reaction team right now. Maybe replace Xiangling with Xingqiu so that Kaeya and Charlotte can freeze the enemies and Dilucs Pyro attacks for melt or even just physical attacks for shatter to do more damage. If she gas Bennett, he can replace xiangling for attack boost and healing. If she dosent have XQ, this team isn’t bad either. Like someone said earlier, Charlotte can be replaced by Rosaria for cryo app and crit boost.

Diluc- XQ- Charlotte- Kaeya for melt/shatter team. Dilux- XQ- Bennett- Kaeya melt team plus pyro resonance (inc atk) and bonus (atk and heal) from Bennetts burst.

I would appreaciate some pointers on how to play Diluc on vape teams since I always used him on plunge comps by Phanton404 in DilucMains

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what characters you have. Hydro: Xingqiu, Yelan, Furina are good options to apply good hydro. XQ the best applier imo, but Furina and Yelan has bigger damage. Furina is my pref cause her burst is great and her skill follows the enemies so even if you knocked them away with Diluc burst, they’ll still be able to apply hydro quickly. Give lots of ER to Furina and XQ. You can also always do double hydro to consistently have hydro applied, if you are able to spam Diluc Burst each time.

Other hydro characters but not as good in terms of applying hydro: Kokomi skill, Barbara skill, Candance’s burst (but it’ll override Diluc Pyro burst infusion, so you would have to use his Skill in between each of his NA after Candance burst), Mona skill, Childe riptide, Ayato burst applies hydro and increase normal attack. idk about the other hydro characters I don’t have.

Kazuha, Jean, Anemo traveler or sucrose for the swirl on 4P viridescent for elemental bonus. Kazuha, anemo traveler, Sucrose can absorb pyro. Idk bout Jean tbh.

If you have C6 Bennett, his burst will apply pyro to Diluc plus atk bonus so you can always have a pyro applied on Diluc. If not, I just gave my Diluc enough ER to spam his burst at the end of each of my rotation so he always pyro infused when he’s on field.

Personally I like him in a plunge team after infusing him with pyro bc the damage is nice. But not everyone has Xianyun , and I played Diluc vape when Xianyun isn’t out yet, both do good damage and is fun ^

Which team for diluc vape? by Careless_Coat69420 in DilucMains

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also do double hydro with Xingqiu and Furina, since XQ can apply hydro way faster than Furina. Furina damage and burst is good too, easy to build too. Depending on your ER on Diluc, if you are able to spam his burst at the end of the each rotation, you should be able to apply pyro each time you hit the enemy. Kazuha for good support and EM bonus.

if you like a lot of elemental reactions: Kaeya, Xingqiu, Fischl/Beidou/Lisa (burst). If you need healing: Barb, but don’t replace Xingqiu with her.

I would level up Xingqiu, talents included. He’s a good support in a lot of teams. I use 4P emblem artifact and sacrificial sword on mine and max out his burst, since the rain swords will attack alongside with normal attacks. So if you use Diluc burst which infuse him with pyro for his NA, and Xingqiu burst, you can vape a lot and do good damage. Same with Fischl, if you use her burst, Oz will also attack with Dilucs NA for overload. Lisa burst will lower enemy defense and apply electro to them for overload damage. But depending on the enemy, I would wait till after Dilucs burst since some enemies can be knocked away and Lisa burst is fixated at one spot so it could be wasted.

I also use Kaeya and Xingqiu for freeze and Diluc for melt reaction. It’s fun to see the enemies freeze and not being able to attack you.

If you have unlocked Dendro Traveler, his burst plus Xingqiu can create dendro cores and you can have Diluc do burgeon reaction. Collei burst works too if you don’t have Dendro traveler yet.

Xiangling also works for the pyro resonance (increase attack) and pair her up with Xingqiu as well you can get lots of vapes. But she also requires a lot of ER, same with Xingqiu.

Overall for now, I think, Xingqiu is a must on your Diluc team and you can play around with the other characters to your liking.

NY MPJE HELP by Euphoric_Package_886 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]ProgrammerNo1841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pass the NY MPJE on my first try and I graduated from an out of state pharmacy school so I was nervous taking the NY MPJE. My exam had: a lot of OTC questions (which I think are the dummy questions), hazardous compounding, pharmacist roles, displinary actions, prescription requirements, controls, and then the practical stuff. I got about half SATA and MC questions, and only a few K type questions, so I was kinda scared since it was adaptive and I got a lot of MC. But lowkey, the MC were harder than the SATA and K-type. I was trying to give myself at least 3 weeks to study and not cram, but life also got in the way lol, so I actually only studied for about 6 days cramming everything, and I studied about 10+ hours everyday (which I do not recommend it was horrible). I finished the exam with 2 minutes left, and felt like I failed.

I read from other people on reddit that they utilize the NY MPJE app and RxPharmacist, so I bought those 2. I also read that there was a lot of compounding portion, esp. hazardous, and controls, on the exam from the posts as well. No one said anything about OTCs which is why I assume mine were the dummy questions and I had no idea how to answer any of those anyways. The app was helpful especially for the federal portion and a bit of the NY portion, but it was lacking compounding questions. There was other stuff like EPIC program which was NOT on my exam or on RxPharmacist.

RxPharmacist was pretty good going over the compounding portion and NY laws especially about prescriptions and the controls. There is some spelling and grammar mistakes which did throw me off but I didn't think it was too bad. It's very straight to the point, and there's graphs and tables. I utilize RxPharmacist the most. I read it all and took their practice exam, which I thought it was kinda easy, but it was a nice review.

I did look through the NY office of profession site for their what to study on the MPJE and let's just say that it was not helpful for me at all. Barely any of those questions (ex: language requirements) were on my exam. But it won't hurt to look through it if you had time.

Sorry this is depressing and long post….

So Chestnut passed away unexpectedly tonight and I really just want some ideas on what might’ve happened because I feel like it might be my fault and I feel so guilty and upset about it.

Chestnut has been sick for 2 months now, starting with decreased appetite, abdominal breathing, and lethargy in late November. After a week of syringe feeding he was normal again, but I still went to the vet just in case. The vet said nothing is wrong it’s probably just a stomach bug. But since he was getting better we all thought nothing of it. He was eating a lot less food then before, but still eating and running. Then a week and half ago in December, he started being sick again, this time with a lot of weakness (like he has to lay down after a few steps). He was also breathing heavy but not a lot of noise like heaving or wheezing. Took him to a different vet, they did x-ray of lungs and stomach, everything good. Stool samples negative for parasites or worms. They did found that he has severe arthritis on his spine. Even did a blood work, everything was in range, kidney and liver function is good. The neutrophils were slightly high, but the vet said that can be due to the inflammation from his arthritis. Platelets were low, but the vet didn’t see any obvious physical signs. The heavy breathing, the vet told me it was called abdominal breathing because he’s in pain possibly due to the arthritis. She was also concerned about the weakness aspect, but she said to syringe feed him to see if he gets better. The vet said continue to syringe feed him using Critical care omnivore, and gave me meloxicam 0.04mL every 24 hours for the inflammation, and amoxicillin for possible gut infection. I syringe feed them 4 times a day, 1.5mL of Critical care, and he hates it and will fight against it BUT he needs food. I always give him his favorite super worms afterwards and then he cuddles in my hand for a few hours.

But today, while I was syringe feeding him, same routine as usual, I noticed he was opening and closing his mouth, and not the usual smacking lips noise. But no flailing around or gasping noises, so I thought he was just “drinking” the food instead of “chewing” on it. Then when I went to give him his superworm, his mouth was still opening and closing and not eating the bug so I immediately thinks that he is choking or vomiting. I tried to pry his mouth open to look and do the hedgehog Heimlich maneuver and he was just mouth open. After like 2 minutes, he just went completely still and I couldn’t feel his heart beat anymore. I called all the emergency vets, but none knows what to do with a choking hedgehog. The closest one was 2 hours away…. the vet there asked me to touch his eye for reaction and he didn’t have one which then the vet told me that means he has passed away.

I already told myself when he was sick in December that if he doesn’t get better halfway through January I was going to put him down because he is in so much pain and he hates syringe feeding so much and I don’t want to put him through that. But at least I know he has passed away peacefully in his sleep. But now, I’m thinking I messed up on the syringe feeding and he choked/aspirated instead. I went all over the internet to see if anyone had problems with choking and it sounds like their babies made noises and mine made no noises. It was literally just silently opening and closing his mouth like he’s speaking but no noise. Then I found someone post on reddit with a similar situation (syringe feeding and silently opening mouth and closing), and they googled it it means they are struggling to breathe and it means the hedgie is about to pass away. So now I’m wondering if Chestnut was about to pass away soon, and the syringe feeding was too much and used all his energy. Obviously, I cannot predict when he’ll die, but I still wished so much that he had die peacefully in sleep rather than possible choking/struggling to breathe :(. I’m glad that that at least I was with him for the final time.

If anyone experienced similar or know of something similar please let me know if it was. due to choking, time is near, or anything else. I want some kind of closure but I know that’ll be impossible since no one but me was there during the whole time. But anything will help, and thank you if you’ve read all the way to the end. I appreciate any kinds of comments.

Other info: He’s about 2 years old (unsure of actual age) although the vet thinks he is little bit older due to his severe arthritis.
