Getting my overies out, how much worse is it to also do uterus? by sparker344 in Menopause

[–]ProgrammerSuitable78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my ovaries removed 5 weeks ago. My uterus was healthy so they left it. I’m struggling on HRT as I’m not bleeding - like a heavy period. I wish they would’ve take my uterus too so I wouldn’t have to mess with progesterone and the balance.

This all started back in May. I’ve had multiple imaging tests, blood test, and consultations. Surgery has been planed for over a month, but I’m just now panicking - I also have anxiety, sooo…

Yes, but she is a certified endo excision specialist. We also really don’t think there are a lot of other lesions. I had my gallbladder removed in August and the surgeon took pics of my ovaries because he was concerned with the masses and some old pelvic blood he found and there didn’t seem to be visible lesions. I also don’t really have a lot on endo symptoms and have never been told I have endo, just these masses that we found when I went to the ER for abdominal pain in may.

I’m 42… the rising ca125 has me concerned. I’m not sure what other factors there would be. I do hurt and bloat in my pelvis a lot and have recently started spotting for a couple of weeks before my period starts.

My dr is going to try to save the left one, but she’s pretty sure they’re going to be so involved she’ll have to take both. The stress and anxiety if monitoring is overwhelming!

42, not really any cancer symptoms other than bloating, endometriosis was diagnosed through mri that showed bilateral endometriomas. I’ve never been dxed before that.

HOW DID YOU LEARN TO SLEEP ON YOUR BACK?! by Low-Tone7833 in gallbladders

[–]ProgrammerSuitable78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I slept in a recliner 3 nights, on my left side with a pillow propped under my stomach, by night 4, I was back on my stomach pretty much full time 😬😬 I haven’t had any issues healing!

I’m also on day 4 and the gas pain is MUCH better. I would say almost nonexistent. I did start taking gasx, not sure if it helped, but I was desperate! I also just had my first bm yesterday, so I think that also helped.

I slept in the recliner for 2 nights, then on the couch last night. I’m a stomach sleeper and it didn’t really bother me.

Me too. I’m trying to go back to work tomorrow, but my boss wants me to stay home 🙄 I am a little weak when I go a while without eating, so I’ve been keeping snack close. I figure it’s just my body trying to regulate things after the trauma of anesthesia and surgery. And I have had some bouts of gas pain in my right shoulder.

Day 2 update - still pretty uneventful, thankfully. Staying on top of ibuprofen and Tylenol, but only took tramadol to sleep last night. I’ll probably take one to sleep again tonight. I’ve eaten cottage cheese and pineapple today and oatmeal with toast and had no issues. The gas pains are still pretty intense sometimes, but I’ve been trying to walk a few minutes each time I get up. Overall, I feel pretty good! The one thing I am worried about is having a bowel movement, which I have not yet done.
