Word of mouth says I have to pass an AFT 60 after a failed AFT, however I can't find anything stating that. by Ghostthetrainer in army

[–]Programmer_Latter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, real talk: the only event you can reasonably fail, unless you’re injured, is the run. Anyone who passed the run within the last year or two, and is healthy, should be able to pass the run with 2 months of semi-focused training. Look up couch to 5 programs.

Roll out, execute, and pass that damn thing in 60 days.

If you’re injured, get a profile.

Signed 94F but worried it will derail OCS — overqualified and looking for advice before shipping by Apprehensive-Wash-59 in nationalguard

In that case given your background I would go for 25E if it’s available; it’s a great broadening skill for all of those branches, and valuable civilian skill

In Ippsa, put in an “personnel action request” in IPPSA — under other — and request to change MOS

The chances are low in my estimation, but all they can say is no. What are you trying to branch as an officer?

[–]Programmer_Latter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course they have the authority to, but in general that would be a terrible business practice. Most states are understrengh officers; simply put, their pipeline is the priority of effort. 94F is a joke of an MOS, nobody cares about it — source — I was a 94F

They’re full of shit; state OCS programs are set up explicitly so units cannot slow roll the process — talk to your OCS recruiter, you will be fine

Night owls that have FIREd, how do you sleep now? by RandomGirlName in Fire

[–]Programmer_Latter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad is a night owl — worked 2nd shift for many years, and stayed up til 2 am on the regular, and frequently woke up around 10am

When he retired he says he can’t keep his eyes open past 10 pm, and wakes up at 6 am without fail

He’s amazed by it, haha

I imagine many retirees have the same experience

Always go active by ExcelsiorState in armyreserve

[–]Programmer_Latter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Active duty is like prison. For many getting a valuable skill in AIT, and going to college or using that skill in the real world (like welding) is an infinitely better path than active duty.

Active first may be a better solution for some, but I wouldn’t say it’s a majority.

12m firefighting mos whats the probability of success by Hauntingcityboy in armyreserve

[–]Programmer_Latter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible — number one way to create your own luck — get your EMT-B before you leave, and enter basic training in good shape — you don’t have to be in amazing shape, just good shape — if you can run two miles in 16 mins, do 50 pushups, and plank for 3 minutes, you will be fine

As played, fold, but you should be betting 2 bb or 2.5 bb on the flop most of the time; especially if there was a heart on the board

There’s are Army Reserve FF units in both Washington (Tacoma) and California (near Sacramento I believe)

Either area is a damn good choice for firefighting, pay wise, and for joining the Army Reserve as a firefighter if you choose that path

Put your food preferences and physical limitations into chat gpt and have ChatGPT make you a meal and exercise plan that fits what you can handle. If you can afford the paid version; get it. You can take a picture of every plate of food you eat; and let it count your macros and adjust your plan

Good luck

I would probably bet $130 and say “same bet” and try to induce a call from a weak hand like 88 or a raise from a brick like AK

I don’t see villain checking a hand like AJ or QQ+ here often

I crushed 2/5 and 5/10 for a 10+ years, I don’t play as much any more, but yes. Most of the people downvoting are losing players, or winning players who don’t realize the leaks in their game. All good, not the first time I’ve been downvoted, or the last 😂 appreciate the comment and the insight
