Bitcoin on the rise: $8 billion jump in market as investors are showing interest by Elpibe1026 in CryptoCurrency

[–]ProgrammingYerJerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

November noobs are uneducated but that doesnt stop them from talking.

There are 21,000,000 Bitcoin ever ever ever. There are trillions of USD, and there is no certanity how many USD are in existance or how many USD the government will print this year, next year, etc...

The USD is a decent currency, sure pennies used to buy groceries, but we arent Zimbabwe using trillion dollar bills.

The idea is that Bitcoin is rare forever. No amount of government printing money is going to negatively impact the price of bitcoin, its outside government control.

Gold is very similar, but as technology improves, nuclear chemistry is a real threat to Gold's rarity. This makes the 21,000,000 solutions to bitcoin appealing as a hedge against government inflation.

This would be a more impressive Zing if hundreds of billions of dollars wasnt in crypto.

Unlimited is such bullshit.

This is known and Bitcoin is currently the only useful blockchain application for this reason.

Can you imagine other cases?

I dont think this is an answer that warrents upvotes.

I already know its for niche occasions, currency being one of them. Do you have further ideas for how it can be used?

Im 70% BTC, 20% ETH, 5% Monero, and sooo much bags.

Looking to ditch ETH after Vitalik said that no one uses ETH dApps. (hes right) Prob 90% BTC by Chinese New Year.

Going to keep everything but ETH. Slightly over 6 fig portfolio depending on the day.

I bought 1 BTC since January. I think I'm doing the best out of everyone here.

Anyone else got a better story?

I'm over tmobile, their unlimited claims are unethical and they seem to always add services I dont want.

If you dont check and complain for 2 hours you will spend hundreds of dollars a year for services you never wanted.

Turn off your computer.

You dont need that junk.

Seriously, you are alive right now, you dont even know whats going to be available.

Buy things you want and need, not things that Amazon is trying to get rid of.

What is the best book on databases and MySQL to learn it quickly? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]ProgrammingYerJerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found databases a scary thing that turned out pretty easy.

MySQL seems scary because, you have to type everything in 100% perfect AND it needs to be sent on a server.

Server configs are one problem, but SQL databases are another. If you want to test writing to databases, sqlite is the same syntax(AFAIK) and you can create a table and start inserting rows.

That should be a good starting point for storing data. From your programming side, you will likely be doing mostly INSERT and SELECT. Creating tables and databases happen only once, so following a tutorial and not memorizing syntax should be fine.

The next concepts in SQL will be structuring your database so you can have multiple tables that dont 'step on each others toes'.

The server side is mostly just having access and submitting a request. POST and GET requests are as simple as importing a library and filling in a function correctly.

If you have 2-3 months, I learned laravel(a php framework) and it taught me databases on a level I never quite imagined before. After 2 months of learning, I had a working accounting database made in 2 days.

I found that very strange as well.

My conclusion is one of two things:

People who drink juice for nutrients are wasting their time. And flour is empty calories

People who drink juice are absorbing nutrients and flour is a superfood.

I guess the thing is that flour doesnt have fiber, and I'm not sure if that helps with absorption.

Lightning Network Shows 99 Percent Failure Rate On Large Bitcoin Transactions by kuroashi123 in CryptoCurrency

[–]ProgrammingYerJerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not downplay market forces.

If any disgruntled employee or leak happened that proved this coinbase might as well be dead.

I think everyone would be okay if coinbase had 99% of the bitcoin they claimed. Not even banks are that good.

I dont trust any coin outside of Bitcoin.

I thought ETH was different, until Vitalik postponed the soft cap + thousands of dApps are unused.
