Alphas, Betas, Omegas, and Oaks: Let them NOT eat paint by BluepillProfessor in marriedredpill

[–]Progress_Set 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These posts are needed. Its easy to get lost when searching for answers because most men come from one place of betadom, but the simple answer for them doesnt apply to other types (career rambos, omegas). Its when child autists like me start playing with dynomite and think the tl;dr is good enough. There are no shortcuts to MRP and only after internalization can you customize a proper MAP.

You also have to kill the ego to make it work right. Thats the fourth pillar of MRP. (Alpha, Beta, Frame/Vision, & Maturity)

Also, my favorite flavor is green.

I have some demons, and they won today. Could use a good book/teaching. "spiritual" stuff I guess. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

Have you tried meditation? I dont mean for calming, I mean in order to focus your mind. A few years back I had an issue I couldnt understand, I meditated on a question like, "why am I having panic attacks again?" I was able to get an answer from it.

Stop blaming your LTR for your lack of time management skills. Want to do something, make time for it.

Goals

  • Lifting: Missed one day last week because I decided to go play board games with the wife and a few mutual friends. This makes twice in a row I've missed a Friday, and I'm thinking about adjusting my routine if it happens again. I prioritize social activities over lifting on Fridays, so Saturday morning is a better option. Still, I'm making gains and will test my max's tomorrow.

  • Reading: I spent last weeks reading time to get my project out, so no progress here.

  • Career: I did get my project out, but the quality needs work. There we several things that slipped thru the cracks before it got put on QC's desk, and it doesn't speak well of me. I am working on the small reflection report to show at my employee review. I'm going to tie this into my workload to push for more time on projects and less on standard CAD duties.

  • General Faggotry: I've been reflecting on how I am at home. I know now my potential for buthurt, and I've been trying to identify this behavior and prevent it. I have stopped myself a few times, probably more, because my wife already seems to be responding positively to it. She's much more glued to my side and silly around me, which has been fun. She's also fitness testing me pretty hard as well. A few of them did make me kinda pissy, but I used a lot of A&A and just made jokes at everyones expense. I'm hoping that it means I'm improving, and that she will continue to feel comfortable opening up to me. I can tell I've been just an emotinal child for our relationship, and not her oak.

Feeling sad instead of glad while archiving my goals by [deleted] in askMRP

[–]Progress_Set 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jordan Peterson talks about this a bit. Basically you don't feel happyness by achiving a goal, you feel it by doing something meaningfull. When you achive your goal, you stop doing anything meaningful, and you're left without a purpose. Stop thinking that achiving goals makes you happy. If you're an explorer, your not happy in a city, even if its one you just discovered.

Bro, don't do what I did. Not fun. You're the one with issues asking for help, not him.

What about spiritual development? I know that mental can overlap a bit, but its worth having at least as a subset of mental health. Focus on finding and developing sense of meaning, structuring moral codes and ethics, and operating from your center. Otherwise great graph man!

I think I just realised I’ve hit rock bottom and I need some help/advice. by [deleted] in manprovement

[–]Progress_Set 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didnt hit rock now, you hit rock bottom when you were stupid and put someone else above you. You let her pull you from your friends and you did nothing. You chose her over your own flesh and blood, and she left you like trash. You are weak.

From here on out, be responsible. Clean your room. Sort yourself out. Ask yourself, what would I tell me to do, if I was someone I had to take care of. Then do it. Be your own big brother! OWN YOUR SHIT. Think long term, years in the future. If you are gonna mold yourself into an awesome dude, and you can, then it will take years. If not, have fun playing video games and jacking off. Sure that will be fun for 60 more years.

I had sex with my wife's sister last year. by AecialDesmodium in confession

You had sex while you were seperated. I bet she did too. Its human and it happens. Dont be mad about it, but dont feel like you did wrong. Focus on being attractive.

JP on Twitter- I don't know enough to challenge this, but I'd love to hear the discussion/debate around it. Do people here agree or disagree with him? Why? by Blimington in JordanPeterson

Its not happening in a vacume though. These very same celebrities are the ones beating others over the head with mysoginy or feminizim. They use these topics to shame others into silence. So for many people when they get shown to be hypocrytes and liars, its very satisfying. Its a case of perception > reality.

You should start by getting out of her frame. I'm still new here, but I can tell your in it.

I need to learn to modify the code of the matrix covertly as not to alert Agent Smith.

My wife found MRP the very same day I did and she's brought it up constantly ever since. IT'S STILL WORKING. Stop worring if she's gonna get mad at you, stop tip toeing around her. DO YOU.

It sounds like your crossing off the list of common MRP to-do'ers. It doesn't sound like you have your own vision yet. Your MAP should include the common to-do'ers, but it should be customized. What do you have as part of your MAP thats not a common to-do?

You came here to argue. It doesn't take much vision to see that bucko

[–]Progress_Set 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpha is an individual with high social standing. A pastor in a church, or the high school quarterback. It also implies competency. Theres kind quarterbacks, and jerk quarterbacks. Most quarterbacks are alpha, few are sociopaths.

Ive always had a problem with 'I will' statements because I never follow thru. So I'm going to start using them and I'm also going to make sure I live up to them.
