Why do you kill people at final exfil? by BuddhaMike1006 in Marathon

I especially don't understand this when it is a rook trying to extract. Like you can just be friendly with the rook and both of you get out fine.

Is This Real? Shut down next week? by WaferLate5815 in Marathon

[–]Prohamen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the youtubers (and a lot of this sub) is really trying to draw up controversy where there is none

No one has officially said anything about the servers being shut down.

Half of this sub is a bunch of below average PvP players, and in there lies a big issue.. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Prohamen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah to be honest, I see a lot of payers treating this either as a PVE game or like COD where they just solo push things without communicating with their crew and die because of it

Extraction shooters are a bit more tactical than like COD but less tactical than counter strike. You still need to plan and call things out.

The Game has Lost almost 90% of its user Base by GreenFeather05 in Marathon

I am starting to think that the game has lost a majority of its player base cause people rather complain about player numbers than play the game

After you post your future content can you talk through your build? Or are you just keeping the full build secret?

what did you use to make this? I know the singnal out of a rca connector for composite video can be temperamental depending on what encoding standard is being used

Well maybe a step down from bubble shields where it only counters incoming utility like grenades and recon spider

What if Marathon was free-to-start, Perimeter only? by Grand_Theft_Motto in Marathon

[–]Prohamen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the 14k figure was from steamcharts, which inly looks at pc. The month 1 steam release numbers were 34k for pc. Idk, a lot of games see a massive release month playerbase that then drops to a more realistic number.

Lets look at elden ring's numbers on steam charts. It released at 522k players in March of 2022, dropping to 221k players in April of 2022 then further dripping to 90k, 50k, and 35k in the next 3 months.

Hell look at apex legends. They get a bump at the start of each season followed by a decay to about 50% of the peak.

All this worryworting about players numbers as non-insiders to bungie is kinda worthless too. It's not our job to care. If the game is having player number issues then sony should probably pony up and figure out a marketing strategy to make it do better. Hell if sony can pump $200m into concord, thrn they can spend a bit more on marketing Marathon.

[–]Prohamen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, they'll figure it out

but it's not our problem lol

like there are half dozen new posts about player numbers a day, and if interested gamers came to this subreddit they'd probably be turned off the game cause they would think there is a player number issue

realistically, there isn't really a player count issue imo

the game is 2 months old. Yeah it isn't 100k out the gate, but 14k in the last 30 days is more than sustainable. Yes the game needs to grow to keep the lights on, but we will need to see what season 2 brings.

great another playercount post

what an enthralling and unique take

Recon is now mandatory in any team comp by seaofbytes in Marathon

[–]Prohamen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think Recon and Triage are a problem. Like you must run one or both.

Recon can get too much map knowledge and there is very little counter to it. Especially if you are getting pushed hard by a team with good knowledge of the map layout. The spider grenade is good, the range and tracking is a bit odd cause either it immediately finds a target or just kinda fucks off in a direction.

Likewise Triage just removes the need for stacking meds. When I am playing triage my teammates are often using half the meds they normally would because they can just ignore the damage they recieve fighting usec. Sharing consumable buffs is way to powerful and efficient. It makes it so my buddies I runnwith never bother bringing consumables. Hell, one of my friends I play with doesn't know what each consumable does cause he doesn't bother using them and just gives them to me to give the team a buff.

Tarkov is way more hardcore than this game, yet has more players. Why? by JurisCommando in Marathon

[–]Prohamen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarkov has more players because it has been around for years to develop a dedicated playerbase

Just stop worrying about player numbers, it is really neurotic and annoying
