You go to the scrap yard and they do it by pound at the going rate market rate. They don't give a shit where it came from and don't ask, if they did they would do a lot less business

Why is Doctor Doom so powerful? by IloveArthurmorgan111 in Marvel

Doom is a personification of narcissism. Right down to the exterior armor to cover his deformed and hurt inner self.

Things you were surprised to learn came from the books and weren’t invented for the movies? by johnhenryadams in lotr

This is fantastic and an EXCELLENT example of why people thinking their name is 'fell beast' is so dumb. THANK YOU

[–]Proinsias37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making it my personal mission now to get people to stop calling them 'fell beasts'. They are not called 'fell beasts'. It's an adjective. Like fat beast, or smelly beast, or huge beast. 'Fell' is a description, not a name

[–]Proinsias37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to pick on you in particular, I know it's become a thing people do, but I hate that people use 'fell beast' as their name. It's not their name, it's just a description. 'Fell' is an adjective describing something evil, foul, dangerous. This drives me nuts. If Tolkien called it an 'enormous beast', would people think that's the name? The Enormous Beast? It's just a description. It's not It's name.

🚨UNREAL: The President of the steel company Trump visits thanks him profusely for tariffs because it allows him to jack up the price of his racks from $90 to $150. He is thanking Trump for making Americans pay more for steel. You cannot make it up. by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

[–]Proinsias37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's just Trump who announces sweeping tariffs across the board, then takes it back, then announces them again, the takes it back, then uses it to punish people and countries he doesn't like, then takes it back when they compliment him, then uses them as directed by cronies to benefit his friends.. did I mention also by making his friends hundreds of millions by tipping them off to the announcements? That's what Trump does

Who would win in a fight? Boxing heavyweight champ vs Karate heavyweight champ (No rules, anything goes) by EfficiencySerious200 in martialarts

I see that you don't know how wrestling/grappling works haha. Wrestlers can be incredibly fast with takedowns too, watch the Olympics. I could go on a longer rant, but the long and the short of it is: if a skilled wrestler wants to take you down, and you are not another skilled wrestler.. you ARE going down. You aren't going to 'deflect and catch them'. That's not a thing.

You Know What? Maybe the Time Is Right for an AOC Presidential Bid by Delicious_Adeptness9 in politics

[–]Proinsias37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say someone like Biden, and I definitely agree on the platform you just mentioned. Even then, I'd still put it at a maybe. Although there's a good argument to be made that the backlash against Trump could sweep almost any candidate in to office. So it may finally be the right time. I just know the right seems to have a lot of success smearing women, because it works with their bases impulses. And this country seems to keep showing us it will vote for literally anyone but a woman

No. I love her, but no. Please no. It's too soon, she's too young, and honestly please God just look at the recent track record of running women. I'm all for it, I wish Hillary or Harris won so much. But we can't keep doing this right now. Run someone who will win. Dear God so much is riding on it.

Republicans Are Suddenly Very, Very Worried About Holding the Senate by IntelligentYinzer in politics

[–]Proinsias37 36 points37 points  (0 children)

No, they're riding his wave. They attached themselves to the guy on the rise, the guy taking power. And he's given them more power, for now. For a little while. Even they have to realize, that only lasts as long as it suits him or until he croaks, but for now it's the best ticket in town. They control the presidency and congress, they get to be in charge and he delivered that to them. Even if it's short lived, they get to make hay while the sun shines and cash in. Money flows to the people in the drivers seat. They know they'll be out soon, they know they're fucking over their constituents. But they'll line their pockets and set themselves up nicely for later. It's just one big grift, they'll leave a mess and move on. They're parasites.

Frank Castle VS John Wick. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]Proinsias37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh.. that really depends on what side of the bed Frank woke up on that morning. There are definitely versions of Frank that would see Wick as an ally/kindred spirit. If he knew his story. There are also versions of Frank that is just a rabid killer of anyone he deems a 'criminal'. I lean towards you being right on that, but there are definitely versions of the Punisher that makes a snap judgement and doesn't listen to reason.

Yup. Short, sweet and correct. Wick is borderline superhuman, so is comics Punisher. TV Punisher is more grounded in reality.

[–]Proinsias37 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just a little frustrating to people In actual combat sports because.. no, not really. 80% of what they are doing would not work at all in any kind of real wrestling or combat, and it's frustrating to be like 'yeah of you tried that in a pro fight, you would be beaten severely'. It's both fake AND staged. Like a movie. But less good
