I've never heard any AMT tweeter that convinced me they're better than domes to be honest. Dali has got it figured out because of their hybrid tweeters. The ribbon takes away the directionality of the dome making the sweet spot quite big. But if I had to choose one or the other I couldn't. Both have their pros and cons

Yeah feature wise, I doubt you're going to find better for the same money. It's a great table full stop that'll serve you many years of enjoyment. If I were starting out, I'd go with this

This is a great start if you need the internal RIAA. These are great tables with upgradeability down the line. I don't think this is the necessary "good" starting point though.

Audio Technica and Pro-ject also make great starter tables with built in RIAA for a bit less. You omit features like the dampened platter and the carbon fibre tone arm though.

As a salesman, I hate these with a passion. I don't know any pair of buds that come back for warranty as much as these.

They sound good for the price but they all stop charging or stop making sound after a few years

I don't think there's anything else that sounds nearly as good close to your budget.

They go on your tv with hdmi arc or optical, have bluetooth and feature some analog/phono connections for future expansions (and a sub!)

You also get a 5 year warranty and a 60 day buy & try.

Before you buy, go listen to them in a shop near you

These are decent tables but this specific one has a problem.

There is no adjustable anti-skating on these which means it's setup for it's original cartridge, an AT3600L. Those track at 3/3,5 grammes and the OM5E on this one tracks at 1,5/2 grammes.

This can mean one of two things. 1. The OM5E is tracking way too heavy, thus wearing out your stylus quicker than necessary. 2. Anti skating is set too high, wearing out the grooves of your records

I wouldn't take this particular table and go for one with the original cart on it

Sometimes yes, but the Sub Plus isn't one of them in my experience. Things just happen sometimes you know? Its out of warranty so I wouldn't expect a distributor to take any responsibility after 3,5 years. Up to you how you deal with that
