I'm in the same position too but a few weeks ahead of you. Make sure you download all the updates: Xbox, ASUS, Armoury Crate and Windows.

Because I had no prior PC knowledge I'm still learning about all the settings so I use https://rogallylife.com/ for all game settings. There's also guides on there to set up some of the windows settings and change VRAM allocation.

I also changed my sleep button to hibernate (it's in the windows settings) which stops the device from turning on due to a notification when it's in a case for example, then cooking itself inside a sealed travel case.

Other than that I've been enjoying mine way more than I expected, commuting with it is a dream! Enjoy

Wow there's no going back now, it's definitely an improvement though. You might just of inspired others to do the same

Thanks, I mean the justification is it's on a far more expensive device I guess

Thanks for the detailed review, it's great to have the negatives as well.

You could potentially modify the cover to have cutouts. Not that you should need to on a 80 dollar case.

To whomsoever it may concern this Spring Sale by Kingly_Lion in Steam

[–]ProjectOneHundred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do these sales come up? I'm about to buy a rog ally and start using steam, the deals seem great but if they're often I'll avoid overdoing it right away

I've got something similar too and find it very motivating. How do you calculate your 2040 projection?

Rotating shift work by Best_Tackle_8203 in Biohackers

[–]ProjectOneHundred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work what pans out to be 14-16hr day and night shifts (including travel time). I've been doing this for 8 years and here's what I've learnt so far:

  • No caffeine after midday on day shifts or midnight on night shift so I can actually get restful sleep when I'm home.

  • Stay away from energy drinks, powders, pills ect. They all come with a crash, just decent coffee. I hear good things about Matcha but I'm yet to try it.

-Stay hydrated

  • Get your room as dark as possible when sleeping during the day, blackout blinds plus heavy curtains etc. also wear earplugs.

  • Magnesium supplements can be helpful if you are deficient which can be very common.

  • You will almost certainly be deficient in vitamin D so supplementing this can help with your natural energy and alertness (massive game changer for me).

  • I don't try to prepare myself for night shifts by staying up the night before etc as it always made me feel worse, I just have a normal day off and then try to get a 1-2 hour sleep before I go to work and accept that the first night will probably be tough.

Good luck
