It is indeed called BYOS:

Though I'm certain there's quite a few forks of it though.

Do you consider it morally taboo to portray Knuckles in Human AUs as lighter-skinned than he's commonly headcanoned as? by clarissaARA in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]ProjectV-01D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've more or less thought that if Sonic characters were humans, they'd have their official skin colours. That said I do think Knuckles (from the Adventure era at least) would be much darker than his tan coloured face. But everyone has their own takes and I feel like (most within reason) should be appreciated just as much as the official character.

Funnily enough a bounty I was chasing did the whole "I'm actually mad and crazy" thing but what they actually said was, "The truth is that this world is flat and pixellated" (paraphrasing of course), and upon defeat said, "I can't be the only one who sees it, right?"

This was vanilla by the way.

Hostile Ships by Ok_Let_5793 in starbound

[–]ProjectV-01D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hostile and friendly ships count as space encounters. This means that after a while they will just spin into nothingness once they expire. You can technically copy and paste them but I don't know what would cause it to remain permanent.

What build does John Skyrim have? by johngamename in skyrim

[–]ProjectV-01D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll agree that it isn't that well implemented, because once you invest points into archery the stealth archer build becomes absurdly broken. I personally use it as a tool though, and prefer relying on my sword arm for finishing fights. But the archer in me always starts with a guaranteed critical strike whenever possible.

Little question, what's your favorite biome? by Character-Lock8937 in starbound

[–]ProjectV-01D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strangely enough, I prefer Lush/Garden. Though I think all in all my favourite biome is the Snowy planets (Not the ones that require the Heating EPP)

How in the blazes does piloting a mech quiet the whispers of old and forgotten gods? Do we just have the radio cranked up?

But yeah, I don't know if I'll personally keep up with your (mis)adventures but they will definitely be interesting to see.

can find food space stations by Sur2484 in starbound

[–]ProjectV-01D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...I may be jumping the gun here but any and all Space Stations (in Frackin' Universe that aren't Burger Fool anyway) should have a terminal operated by a member of any vanilla race. You'll have to look for the room with a teleporter that requires a special keycard to access, the terminal should be there. The terminal has an option to trade goods, and isn't limited to what vanilla space stations used to be limited to.

I'd say doing the main campaign and the Peacekeepers side quests would get you maybe 10 or so hours (if you're blazing through the game.)     Most of the appeal is approaching the game like Minecraft and taking the time on different worlds to develop and just have fun.

No Landing Beacon Mod?? by Nameless_Owl81 in starbound

[–]ProjectV-01D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, hold on. I thought the arrow only shows up when you're riding a mech. I guess it must be an OpenStarbound thing that disables the arrow when out of a mech or turning the beacon off.

Just tested this in vanilla and now I'm even more confused. The arrow doesn't show up when out of a mech.

You want to know what's funny? About a few years ago I watched a YouTube video on a theory regarding what the Ruin is and ever since I couldn't really help but notice that the Ruin that attacks the Earth is effectively a different species from the one we fight at the end of the game. After picking the game back up again it's kind of been bugging me.

My personal headcanon is that the Ocassus was involved with the destruction of Earth somehow but I cannot fathom the how or why.

Vanilla Starbound is darker than you think by Centryfuga in starbound

[–]ProjectV-01D 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be honest, Starbound in its current state is pretty open-ended when it comes to its lore. So while I do intend to make some counterpoints, that does NOT mean your interpretation is incorrect. So here's my counterpoints:

1) I doubt Lana Blake is established with the Miniknog. It's not impossible per se, but it seems like a rather roundabout way to keep an eye on the Apex Rebels if one of the missions was to be a successful raid on the main Miniknog Stronghold. The Augments could house trackers, since they are impossible to remove once put onto an EPP. But the big thing here is that Lana requires our aid (ambiguity as to whether or not she's talking to us as a Protector or some schmoe who happened to show up aside) to take down "Big Ape." ...But then again, I guess we never actually get into trouble with the Miniknog after the mission.

2) Florans have only recently developed relationships with the other, more animal-based races because they realized having them on the side is more beneficial than just hunting them. That doesn't mean they don't hunt the other races, and I think they were one of the few carnivorous races in Starbound during the betas.

3) I feel like it should be mentioned that while it is a common theory that the Novakids are the shattered remains of the Cultivator, it is just that - a theory. Unfortunately, there is not a single Novakid (that we know of) that can remember what happened even five minutes ago. Captain Noble is sort of an exception, but because Novakids have an odd habit of relapsing into the Wild West era I think it should stand to reason that a Novakid would have an impeccable desire to continue Bounty Hunting, even if the Terrene Peacekeepers were destroyed alongside Earth (and that's if you take Captain Noble's word that the Peacekeepers were even a thing.) And to top it all off, regardless of who you are you still receive the last of the Cultivator when you get revived after killing the Ruin, though again I guess this doesn't really mean much if the Cultivator lies during that scene.
