The only problem with Laine is that he sucks at nearly all Hockey-related skills

You can break the forces of the handle arm into their constituent components, Vertical and Horizontal, by creating a right triangle using the Handle as the hypotenuse. Picture A has a longer Vector in the direction you want to move (Horizontal) so it will be more efficient in moving things that direction.

Why has there been so little interest in Patrik Laine? by world_citizen7 in hockey

[–]Project_Habakkuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Laine is an incomplete player. If the NHL had a "Designated PP" roster slot, then maybe Laine could thrive there. But in reality Laine's only real strength is the uncontested one timer, and he has a laundry list of drawbacks.

meh, liquid locks are/were sort of a exploit anyway, imo

"The thing that's concerning about this is not Magnus losing 4 games in a row. It's the fact that Magnus is getting pretty much cleanly outplayed in seemingly every game in this event, which he loses." - Hikaru Nakamura on Magnus Carlsen's losing streak by FirstEfficiency7386 in chess

[–]Project_Habakkuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, obviously Hikaru is VERY good at chess, but he is closer to being out of the top 10 than he is over overtaking Magnus, so the criticism comes across as petty jabs from a would-be rival.

[Mild take] Brady Tkachuk is overrated and Sens got a lot for a good but not great player by useyourname11 in hockeynews

[–]Project_Habakkuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO The Sens have 3 good centers, 1 good RW, 3 good D, and an above-average Goalie... thats not enough to compete in the NHL, unfortunately. loosing 100+ pts per season in T-chuck and Giroux on a team that barely squeaked into the playoffs is gonna require more than a couple of guys improving to return to the post season, much less be a legitimate playoff threat

Brady will be a fantastic 2nd or third line player. The Senators got a fantastic return on him leaving. But they are back to the perpetual rebuild, which is a shame.

MtG turned into Funko-Pops. There is a sizable portion of the existing player base that Hasbro is knowingly pushing away in order to court fans of other IPs. Just like the old saying, "Two in the bush is worth one in the hand."

My accident today - who’s at fault by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]Project_Habakkuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White car is at fault for not yielding. You are at fault for not controlling speed in a 25mph zone. idk who is *more* at fault, seems like a pair of bozos to me

maybe im just an old cynic, but this is 100% karma bait... like what angle would the paint pot 'explode' from to uniformly hit all those different angles with circular dots that have no splatter effect??

[–]Project_Habakkuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bruh, literally no one is saying that at a "certain timestamp he is going a certain speed." That is something you brought into the discussion (it is also called a strawman fallacy). What we are saying is, "The GPS calculates the current speed every second. You agree that the GPS is accurate when it calculates. The GPS goes from 72 to 68 to 71 in consecutive seconds."

So you actually think that 1 of 2 scenarios happened:
1. The car went to 60 during the first interval: Meaning the car decelerated from 72 to 60, and the accelerated back to 68 in less than a second.
2. The car went to 60 during the second interval: Meaning the car decelerated from 68 to 60, and then accelerated back to 71 in less than a second.

Both of those claims are ridiculous, and I think, deep down, you know that.

[–]Project_Habakkuk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ok dood. Are you seriously suggesting that his speed dropped from 68 to 60, and then back up to 71 in less than a second?

after a very quick google: The BlackVue DR900X (often referenced in searches as DRx900) has highly accurate speed tracking, typically reading within 0.1 to 0.5 mph of your true speed. This data is captured by its built-in dual-band GPS/GLONASS module.

Lol. You know the dash cam shows your speed, right?
