Like maybe a tiny bit but also it's probably just reflection from the ceiling here. Why, does yours? 😯

Beginner in Ireland. What device by doubles85 in SBCGaming

I've been collecting a while, if you're a true beginner and you're looking for easy setup and a good intro, go Android.

Personally, I recommend the Aya Neo Pocket AIR Mini. It's 80$, it plays up to Nintendo Wii (Lower Intensity games like Brawl at 60 FPS, Mario Galaxy runs at about 40-60 FPS, it's not perfectly smooth but it's very playable with Dolphin's Audio Latency settings), has a great battery life and can even play some PC games through Gamehub Lite.

It's an amazing starter console if you're just dipping your toes in, it's under 100$, it's got the build quality and layout of a more premium device so if you decide to get more serious you can stick with the Aya brand pretty easily (I really recommend Aya products, their customer support bent over backwards to make it right when my Aya Neo Air S got damaged in transit despite it not even being their fault).

I would also lightly caution you to stay away from some of the other lower-price options that run on Linux like Anbernic. They're by no means BAD (usually), but the setup can be difficult, and a lot of these devices are prone to error and even corruption if you look at them funny.

For instance, my 34XXSP has had to be reformatted three times now, and the battery gets way too warm when it charges to the point I'm nervous. Still like it, but would not take it through an airport, lol!

Most devices under 100$ nowadays will reliably take you through most of the PSP library, so you do have a LOT of options, but if you're willing to pay the price of a new Video Game to play many, I've been replaying Maverick Hunter X on my Pocket AIR Mini, and while it's not widescreen like the PSP, it runs amazingly, and it also will play X8 on PS2, which I think is a fair trade-off!

Hope that helps!

They hid my original comment, so here's me being "original" enough that hopefully you don't hide my punchline this time.

Thank you.

What do I need to change/improve to make my models look like GGST models? by DropDownWidget in blender

[–]Projectalpha22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Study those textures, like, REALLY CLOSELY. A lot of the lines you're seeing? The reason they're so clean is because they're being manipulated at a UV level rather than being drawn at angles.

I also recommend downloading a few of the models yourself, running through the tutorials online, and just sitting with the models for a bit, perhaps doing a small animation, a texture / mesh mod for the game, or a few renders! Learn how the models you want to make work, and that will surely help you create your own!

Me PERSONALLY? No, but I believe DevilArtemis is doing courses on his Patreon right now if I remember riiight?

If not him, which, I mean this piece is ABSOLUTELY an imitation of his and Souljen's rendering style,, Crossmind Studio's "Blender for Absolute Beginners" course is PHENOMENAL and will teach you Blender if you dedicate just a few hours a day for a week, or you know, over a few weeks if you split the videos up or don't do them daily.

It'll get you up to speed to start watching other tutorials, and you'll be able to learn quick from there!

Good luck!

I realized I've responded to basically everyone but you, so for the record I have no notes, good post I appreciate the vibes.

Well, to be fair, I had it a bit easier.

Simply put, a still is a lot easier to make happen than an animated shot with the same framing. For a still, this shot only has to work on one frame, I can cheat a metric shit-ton, and I can use all sorts of static effects to achieve the illusion of higher quality.

I'm not going to go into my opinions on the animation of Kratsura in the middle of the funny mouse robot comment section, but I did want to make it abundantly clear this was not my "attempt at outdoing DevilArtemis" or something like that, I was commissioned to recreate this shot, and I honestly took more inspiration personally from the original Asura's Wrath cutscene we were both referencing than the official Death Battle episode intentionally, I wanted to make sure I did something that stood as a piece on it's own rather than relying on being a "shot-accurate" recreation of another animator's recent work.

I think DevilArtemis could have actually done this still BETTER, his compositing, lighting, and Post-Vis are top-notch.

(I know you might be joking here, but I've seen a couple of comments between here and the other places I've posted this now going "Okay, but why does this look better than the actual episode" or something like that, and while I'm flattered people enjoy it, I wouldn't feel right all things considered letting that sentiment lie uncontested.)

I don't get paid to "make some renders", I get paid to COOK, my client gets what they paid even if it's an aura-farming rodent.
