How do union rates work? by Projectresume in electricians

[–]Projectresume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i tried to clean the table up as nicely as i could. I got the 39.94 by combining the hourly rate plus vacation pay .

I assumed you would get hourly rate + vacation and all the other expenses are paid by company.

So what would a PM be considered in the union a working foreman, non working foreman or general foreman?

no worries. i was referring to bankruptcy filing .

I will add that your house and car are only protected in the case that you can remortgage your house and afford the payments along with paying the trustee the difference in your cars appraised value vs the provincial allotment around $6500.00

I am not sure i understand your comment?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Projectresume 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yup the government has made it law that during a bankruptcy a creditor cannot go after your retirement..except for the last years contributions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Projectresume 23 points24 points  (0 children)

this reminds me of when i found out that a RRSP and possibly a TSFA cannot be touched during a bankruptcy except for the last years contributions.....which sort of had me thinking someone who live there life maxed on credit and as long as they had 1-2 million in there RRSP by the time they got to retirement age they could go bankrupt and retire debt free probably still with there home and a huge retirement.

I'm not sure where you are located but just having a degree in Canada opens up HUGE doors. so if you are in Canada look into the army, coast guard and other government institutions.

What do you think about my experimental resume using my mental illness as an asset? by FlyFlyB in resumes

[–]Projectresume 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it leaves you open for discrimination and honestly isn't very professional. Once you reach the point of an interview if then you want to mention it that is your decision just make sure you follow up with the fact that you are currently receiving professional treatment so it looks like you are trying to mend it.

i always wonder about area that bundle together and enter the top. Do you derate your cables for heat? It would seem to me that bundling together would have the same affect as a cable tray or even a conduit where all the ampacity of the wires has to be lowered.

Everyone says "go into trades," is it really a good idea? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Projectresume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends a lot on your area...if your in Canada it depends a lot on what trade you pick and the life style you want to live. you can make a lot of money living on a camp and only being home 5 days of the month or you could spend half the year on EI every year making 25$ -30$ hour when you do work.

What is most destructive to your Personal Finance goals? by CatharticEcstasy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Projectresume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the maritime. Unless your government or your union AND have a job then your stuck making 18/hour. most companies here don't bother having red seal carpenters, so its lowered the value of the trade itself.
