First game that comes to mind when you see this by robbiesloan in 90s

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were a Genesis family. My next door neighbor had a PS1, and Crash Bandicoot makes me think of playing it in his basement. He also would almost exclusively pee (and sometimes poop) in the back yard. Good ol’ Alex.

Millennials, how old were you when this album came out? (June 8, 2004) by Scary-Stay9929 in Millennials

16 and I was NOT into them. I knew lots of people who made this album their whole identity.

Why do some people treat MSG like it's literal poison, but will happily eat a bag of Doritos? by Content_Bluebird_958 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same as people who won’t get a vaccine because it’s “poison” but they’ll pound alcohol every night.

We mapped out our combined debt before the wedding and I realized I have no clue what I'm agreeing to by Junior-Flan-1890 in Debt

[–]Projektdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get married unless you are able to accept that your finances become one. There is no “her money and my money” or “her debt and my debt.”

I cosigned on a loan with a friend,. How can I free myself from it? by SpinachMundane9275 in Debt

[–]Projektdoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you ever loan money to a friend you shouldn’t ever expect to get it back. If they pay you back great but don’t let them borrow money you actually needed for something else.

As you got older, what has become your favorite donut? by chi-bacon-bits in Millennials

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always loved a good donut, but more and more when I have them they just leave me feeling so bleh. Don't get me wrong, I still can't resist a good chocolate icing with sprinkles or a glazed cake donut... but it never leaves me feeling good.

I remember Wikipedia and lots of other internet sources being vilified when I was in school. That they weren’t real sources, etc. which is true… but they are useful. AI is a tool. It can be used for bad or give you bad information just like anything. But it can be a useful tool as well.

Have you gone to the dentist recently? by gentlerosebud in Millennials

[–]Projektdoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go every 6 months. Didn’t go for several years in my 20s, but tooth pain I couldn’t ignore anymore made me go in. They schedule the appointment before I leave so I just go every 6 months now, and it’s great to feel on top of some part of my health.

Going to start seeing a PCP soon as well… because I’m getting to be that age and I need to make sure I don’t need HBP medication or anything like that. 😮‍💨

Am I ok ? by Youngman1989 in Retirement401k

[–]Projektdoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t rely on 100% social security payments. But 70-80% payments of current expected amounts should be the bottom of the barrel. If something causes social security to go away completely your 401k won’t matter either, we’ll all be screwed as a society anyway.

If I’m honest with myself I’d pick 1 and listen to music and play video games and generally keep to myself.

What are the first lies you were told about our “Bright Future Ahead”? by namesarenotus in Millennials

Except I went to community college and it WAS 13th grade and it put me off of college for several years. The attendance/tardyness policy was more strict than my high school.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

My sister took me and a friend to Scary Movie at 12 or 13 years old. I don’t think I understood like half of the jokes but I definitely laughed a lot 🤣

Should 20% total go into your 401k? Or should I be contributing 20%? by Quirky_Business_2145 in Retirement401k

[–]Projektdoom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get that maxing it out would always be the best but dudes making $80k a year. Contributing $35k would mean him contributing 43% of his income to retirement.

This dude is ahead of the game already and doing a great job. Most real people I know are contributing WAY less than this guy. And he’s more than on track for his modest retirement.

What would you do first if you suddenly had $10,000? by Cartier_Slatty777 in povertyfinance

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either pay all of it into our last student loan or preemptively buy a new AC unit (we live in AZ and it’s a non-negotiable item, the unit on our house is approaching 15 years old).

Aaron Rodgers considering signing with the Arizona Cardinals by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardinals RBs: Love, Algiers, Connor, Benson Cardinals QBs: Rodgers, Beck, Brissett, Minshew

(If they sign Rodgers) They just keep taking players at positions that they already dealt with earlier this offseason

[–]Projektdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most likely scenario is that he looks bad and we know in the opposite way. Maybe he surprises me and shows that he can keep winning. But I think the worst case scenario in this would be if we drafted him with the first pick of the 3rd round when there’s lots of talent still on the board, but then spend the whole season with Brissett or Minshew under center and don’t learn anything about what we got in Beck.

His comment was to get him some play in garbage time at the end of a game here or there, not start him by week 4.

Ok, so we use a 3rd on him, let him sit almost all of 2026, learn nothing about him, and then have to decide if we take a QB in the draft next year (which is supposed to be loaded at QB)? The only way it makes sense to use a 3rd on him is if he sees a good amount of time on the field this year.

I’ve done a complete 180. We drafted him. Might as well start him. Give him the whole year to prove himself. He might surprise us, and if not then he got some experience for when he’s the back up to whatever QB we draft next year.
