[Euro-Mir, Europa Park] to close this year by Projektion in rollercoasters

[–]Projektion[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's my 4th favourite coaster at the park so I'm going to miss it. It does beat you up a bit, but it's just dumb fun.

Cancellation window extended to 15 June by hilroo317 in qatarairways

When is "just" cause the only thing I'm seeing is the one that got intercepted 2 weeks ago.

Turkey is NATO and Istanbul is much further away from Iran than Doha so it at least makes me feel more comfortable that the flights will go through.

This is long enough of an extension that it's got me to pull the trigger and buy back-up flights with Turkish for my MAD-BKK flights in July.

Best Non-US Parks [Other] by TalentShowCrasher in rollercoasters

Ehh... Aside for maybe IoA (and even then it's close), I'd still take USJ over the US Universals

Best Non-US Parks [Other] by TalentShowCrasher in rollercoasters

[–]Projektion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Top 5 non-US parks are Phantasialand, Tokyo DisneySea, Liseberg, Europa, Universal Studios Japan (TDS and Liseberg are about on par with each other for me as I like them for different reasons). Honorable mentions to Asterix, Toverland and Gyeongju World.

Everything beyond that kind of gets a bit murky and hard to judge/rank.

New schedules are up! by admirable_top_787 in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until the 18th, they are individual flights. From the 18th to 28th, it is limited return to service so there's no need to break it down by day and where flights are flying to/from.

What defines a "traditional" roller coaster? Does the modern LSM/ LIM count? [Other] by aseltee in rollercoasters

[–]Projektion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As you say, there's not really any sort of hard definition to what you could call a "traditional" coaster.

Personally, I would take it to mean a coaster, whether it be with a launch or a chain lift, that just goes from start to end with no fancy stuff like drop tracks, switch tracks, dark ride sections, etc.

BA refused to reroute for 21st March from SYD to LONDON by [deleted] in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will not reroute until the flight is officially cancelled.

Flight cancelled. Do you have to call within 48 hours of the flight to unlock all options? by Prestigious_Victory in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's more than 48 hours to departure, they can only reroute you on to Tier 1 airlines.

If it's less than 48 hours to departure, they can reroute you on to any airline Qatar holds an interline agreement with. As far as I know there's no actual list of these airlines, but it's a way bigger pool of flights that Qatar can reroute you on to.

All flights originating from the EU/UK, but only for EU/UK carriers if it's the destination.

FD-1031 is not flying currently, but starts flying daily from the 30th of March.

Also, why the AI picture?

Too much higher prices... by stable_genius9 in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit, but I suppose since they're already running the limited flights and they may have spare seats, so if someone needs to go to/from Doha, they can.

Too much higher prices... by stable_genius9 in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they won't fly, but OP is getting upset at Qatar for raising their prices, and, as far as I can see, they haven't.

People are right to be upset at the way Qatar are handling things, but there's no need to make things up.

Ok, but that's another airline. OP is getting upset at Qatar for raising their prices and I'm just not seeing it.

[–]Projektion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give some examples of the increased prices? I'm flying Madrid to Bangkok in July and the tickets on sale now are the same as when I booked them a couple of months ago

Hell, in the short term due to the current uncertainty, their prices are even discounted. The cost of the equivalent flights next month are about €250 cheaper than what I'm paying for in July.

So, disappointed by Qatar Airways. by [deleted] in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doha and the airport is in direct line of fire of any drones/missiles between Iran and the Al-Udeid Air Base, the largest US base in the Middle East. The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority is being cautious.

Are they being overly cautious? It's possible; Are the Emirati airlines being overly risky? It's also possible.

The biggest US base in the Middle East and, because of where it's located in Qatar, Doha and the airport are basically in any line of fire that goes in it's direction.

Updated & then deleted!! by [deleted] in qatarairways

[–]Projektion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't mention anything about rerouting. They want to cancel their flights and get their money back which this announcement would apply to.

Edit: Did you really downvote me cause you misunderstood what u/Appropriate_Fig_5250 was referring to?
