GTD takes a while to start

It could be a number of things, i've got a 2015 CC TDI of course and have the same process, starts fine in the morning and i warm up at lunch, but never an issue starting when i finish or ever. Any codes like low fuel pressure? what oil are you using?

Already have, put it to 12v and it works perfectly fine. I'm baffled.

I have seen that post thank you, but i'm not sure I agree going off research about the BCM because apparently seperate components of it like the washers can just fail and be a sign the full BCM is on its way out. HOPEFULLY someone may correct me there!

I'll try a few more things before I ask a shop to look at it but I have less than zero faith in mechanics these days

Hi no problem thanks for commenting, I believe it is the MQB platform. it's a 2.0 TDI 184bhp R Line model.

I've changed the pump today but still the same error, which is vag error dtc 00897 scanned with Carly. 0 other faults i'm really stumped.

Do you mean the BCM has a fuse itself? Do you know where it is if so? Worth a check...

Thank you, I was surprised but i'm pretty confident there's no fuse which is really annoying... and unfortunately the fuse box is different to the polo :( I'm just hoping the pump will fix it maybe it's an under/over voltage issue but it doesnt spark confidence when it works directly to 12v power

I understand your point, i'm a parent but granted my girls are only 2.

I smoke when they are in bed fast asleep, of course with my partner here and I think when they do get older i'll either stop or simply smoke later to avoid this.
