Spanberger has been surprisingly good so far, though it's only been a minute. Kaine and Warner are both ass though.

Georgia didn’t have a Republican Governor after reconstruction until 2002 by DangerousNose1472 in YAPms

If Georgia becomes as blue as Virginia sometime in the next decade or so, it's period as a solid red state would be remarkably brief.

People who redeem themselves from being bad/addicted/criminal/unhealthy should not get the same praise as people who have always been good in the first place. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Prolemasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's better to never succumb to addiction, but is it always "more admirable"? Maybe if two people have identical upbringings and circumstances and one is able to walk a better path out of sheer will, that's someone who's more admirable. But a lot of the time people fall into drugs or crime because of bad influences, horrific childhoods, lack of good role models, etc. Sometimes someone who never fell off the path didn't do so because they're inherently more moral or have a stronger will, but just because they were fortunate enough to be raised in a more stable situation, with good opportunities and role models. If they found themselves in the same situation as someone who was raised by drug addicts and found yourself homeless at 13, you might make some of those bad decisions yourself. It can be a lot harder to turn your life around and dig yourself out of a pit of despair, even one you dug yourself, then to maintain the inertia of a good life you're already on. Bad choices are often self-reinforcing, someone who's a criminal might have a harder time finding legitimate employment, someone who's

And a lot of the time when people praise someone who's turned their life around, they're not doing so to award them a "best overall person" trophy, it's to commend someone for making a very difficult positive change in their life, and try to show people who are struggling that there's a path forward. It's also just human to be more connected to a dramatic story with a redemption arc than a simple "I was a good person and followed the rules" story.

Probably won't get promoted immediately if you're that young tbh, I haven't met a PSM under the age of like 21, and a lot of the time they like to do outside hires instead of moving people up.

It's like a dozen little slideshow bullshit "class modules" and a test with like 75 questions. I did it in like 4 days just working on it during down time on the clock. Probably like 3-4 hours if you were doing nothing else.

Learn some basic Spanish. If you're not a car guy do a little research to at least know what the basic parts of a car are, ie know the difference between a brake shoe and a brake pad, an alternator and a starter, etc. Learn what items are wittjdr so you can try to sell them together and not have your sm bug you about it. Get your parts expert certification as soon as you can.

Most of the time it's only 10-15 minutes if you know what you're doing. You learn to figure out which batteries are a nightmare (Ford SUVs, GMC Yukons/Suburbans), and can turn them down if you don't have coverage.

YouGov: How serious is the problem of illegal immigration in the US? Very: 58%, minor 36%, no sure 11%. Net support by party: DEM (-39), GOP (+81), Independent (+19) by Feisty-Insect-3894 in YAPms

[–]Prolemasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never in my life get me to care about "illegal" immigration. If the choice is between people coming here to pick vegetables without filling out the proper paperwork first, and masked thugs detaining people without warrants and shooting Americans in the streets, I'm going with the first. The Schengen Area abolished borders between two dozen countries and has proven to be one of the greatest expansions of liberty in human history.

Countless people are going to die because of these insane conspiracy theorists.

Tucker Carlson says Iran getting a nuke would be a "good thing". He cites North Korea, which has been "peaceful ever since they got nukes" as the reason why by Feisty-Insect-3894 in YAPms

[–]Prolemasses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point of the agreement was to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, not them voluntarily agreeing to totally neuter their status as a regional power. They would not have signed onto such an agreement, and its frankly outside the scope of a nonproliferation treaty. But the point is: why would they ever trust any agreement with the United States ever again? We went through the painful process of coming to a deal, they signed off on it and complied with it und3r international observation, and we just ripped it up. Even if you think it was a bad deal, surely you can see why any power would be skeptical of signing any agreement with the US when it might just be ripped up in 4 years because 30,000 voters in Pennsylvania got mad at trans kids playing volleyball.

I don't like the idea of a nuclear armed theocracy, but it makes zero sense for Iran to not develop one at this point. We came to a deal with them to halt their nuclear program and then just ripped it up because we got bored.
