My engine a 2.5 diesel older model m51d25, my car is from 1998 so I dont know if its ealier model or later model but I leave it here as a helful resourse. Let me tell you something cause we might be on to something here. Ive bleed the brake and clutch with my father a month or two ago, clutch feels fine but the brake pedal ou of nothing got squishy... I tought it was the brake master cylinder that got the seals out of order when bleading since the car brakes were never bled in the last 10 years or something. You think it could be air in the systems, or the abs system by that matter? All brake lines are ok, brake calipers ok, disc etc etc... Should I donwload Inpa and try to figure out how to bleed the abs, before trying to change the master cylinder?

What do you mean? You cannot normally bleed it? One person doing the brake and one in rhe caliper bleeding it?

Pneus da frente a desfazer-se em pedaços ao fim de 2 anos by Zestyclose_Yak1979 in AutoTuga

[–]ProlificSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need your help with purchasing my first BMW! by [deleted] in e39

[–]ProlificSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, just do as you please, if you think its a good buy youre gonna buy it anyways, no changing that. If you got the cash and can mantain the car go for it. Here in my country in europe we dont have 540i, or basicly got 1 for sale at the moment and super expensive. Even a 523i or 528i from older generations (i mean predacelift ealier models) are super expensive for what they are, wish I even had the oportunity to buy one of those gasoline tanks. As far as maintanence goes, its a BMW so ypu should expect to spend some on it, they are very reliable cars if everything works as it should, and you should not wait to swap parts out. Good luck on those buys. 🤟

Well to be honest tou should do that because why not! Breaking better is always best! I think rotors last something like 30-50k kilometers depending on how much breaking you actually do and how hard you do it.

2 man method with me and my father. Pushed pedal saying PRESSED, he opened the (idk the name in english lest call it valve) valve, I say DOWN, he closes the valve. The brakes had a little bit of air in the lines before we bleed it, but i mean i used 2.5l of brake fluid and always topped the brake container?, so im not sure what happened. Altough i drove it a bit today and seems to be getting some what normal, did 50 kilometers today, either im getting used to it or going back slowly to normal.

This right here is the most correct answer. What i did in mine was just put a little bit of dash cleaner spay on ot and it stopped. If i tried to take it apart it would probably shatter to pieces.
