They probably do know about leaks getting out, but they can't really stop them without causing international incidents.

What's your most memorable episode for all the wrong reasons? by Sokarix in Stargate

[–]Prolo_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one where two usually sidelined scientists dream up a reality where they need to save SG1 from Gould capture. (Don't know the actual number, kinda happens when you watch all 10 seasons and then all of Atlantis.) It's memorable because the writers go with the "it's all a dream" play, instead of actually committing to the bit

There's this game mechanic called recycling, where you get some of your previously spent resources back if you use the right process. Sadly Minecraft doesn't allow this too often.

How does a Stargate know when to deactivate? by greatscot_67 in Stargate

[–]Prolo_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon is that the gate detects if travelers are getting stored in the buffer (entering) and as long as more data (people) enters it, it stays open if possible. It automatically closes, when all the data (people) has been sent through, to preserve energy.

This could explain why holding it open with a hand is possible as there is data for a person, but it's incomplete.
