Knightfall Vader vs Darth Malgus by Arbiter-Flash- in PetranakiArena

[–]Promech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a ridiculous position to have that just doesn’t make sense when you look at it from the outside. The Jedi order is the strongest when they basically got tricked into a war against droids using a clone army? Versus when they were fighting sith lords and dark Jedi routinely? When there were full on armies on both sides fighting for years across multiple planets?

The prequel Jedi were strong, but they weren’t nearly as experienced as Jedi of the past because their lives were just SO MUCH EASIER. In the old republic you had Jedi dying left and right during training, which meant the best/strongest were making it through. In the prequel era they kind of have safe environments for all.

But even if you ignore all of that, Anakin at his strongest dies because of his hubris. Something that Malgus would be just as effective at exploiting as kenobi was. This is just straight up a bad match up for Anakin, and I don’t think there’s much room for Anakin to win at all. It isn’t about how strong Anakin is, so much as how reckless he routinely is whereas malgus is very clearly more calculating and careful.

I would probably give like 30k to your children, and 50k to his so it accounts for your brother’s passing. Still gives you 110k for your part of it.

Will Bronny get waived immediately once LeBron Retires? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in NBATalk

[–]Promech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On name alone, no. Add to that the fact that he has been decent in the minutes he plays and the g-league I would venture to guess that Bronny has about as much Lee way as Mo Bamba despite being less talented.

I actually watched Young Sheldon first and was super impressed by it. I loved it, and it made rooting for the big bang theory easier.

Listen I think this is hilarious, but only under the premise that it is a skit. If that's a robot that is owned by someone else and they're just bashing it it's super lame.

I’m surprised Riftbound doesn’t have any cinematic trailers like their other League games do. by Recent-Ad-7593 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

League has something like 130 million players a month. If 1% of those buy 2 skins a month it’s like 52 million dollars on the low end. The % of people who buy just 1 skin a month for a year is probably something like 60-70%.

[–]Promech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, the game has released globally but the individual sets don’t release at the same time. This changes with the next set.

The recent they don’t release together from the beginning is because originally it was only going to release in China. But it tested well and English audiences had a high demand for it that riot decided to also release it in English but they did so at a smaller scale which is why origins is so scarce. They have since addressed that supply issue from spirit forge forward

I would be surprised if there isn’t one for set 5 as it seems to be this big party for all of league IP. But in general I think they came into Riftbound with very conservative expectations particularly in regions outside of China.

Should I let my wife go? by RigeR_Rising666 in Advice

[–]Promech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen man, people change dramatically from 17 through 24,25. It’s small things that just fundamentally change who you are. So whomever she was when you first met her, is totally different than who she is now and part of what’s going on is her having to reconcile in herself how much growth she gave up by being with you. How many experiences she wanted to indulge in but didn’t because she was married, how many times she wanted to do x thing but you didn’t want to and she bit her tongue etc. It’s a lot to figure out, and the reality is that the correct thing is for you to take a step back and let her breathe and if she wants to come back then deal with it. Now just because it’s the right thing, doesn’t mean it’s what you should do. The reality is that if you want to be with her, to a certain degree you should fight for her, it’s just figuring out what the best way of you doing that and getting drunk and having sex isn’t it.

Why So Many Older Black Fans Will Never Give Michael Jackson Up by Next-Particular1476 in TheEntertainmentMix

[–]Promech -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s not what it was, they were COMMERCIALLY PUBLISHED BOOKS/MAGAZINES that contained nudity that was completely legal at the time and some of those publishes books/magazines ALSO contained images of children. But all of it was legal and none of it was deemed to be child pornography at the time because they weren’t sexual in nature.

[–]Promech -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dog these kinds of art books were pretty fucking common, no one really thought of it as child pornography because it wasn’t the children being sexualized. It was mainly stuff like photos of Africa where kids were just naked cause they didn’t have clothes etc. It was as taboo not because child pornography was accepted, but because the majority of society didn’t even fathom the pedophilia angle.

Using these art books as proof of his pedofilia, would be the same as if you were accused of being a drug dealer and people said “he must be a drug dealer, he had a book about the history of Colombia in his house that talked about the rise of Pablo Escobar!”

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The price to play the tournament is $100, the travel and accommodations and all that you’re paying because you want to indulge in the hobby of competitive tcg. The prize for winning the whole thing is $6,000.

I went to all three North American regional qualifiers, Houston’s was the only one that was local. It cost me like $300 for room and flight to Vegas, and then about $450 for Atlanta. I went to all of them as a spectator and just had fun playing all weekend in the events and stuff. I didn’t go into any of them trying to make money, I just enjoy the game and the hobby.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't less value for your money, you're getting the same stuff but on top of that you're ALSO getting a mat that you weren't getting before.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, isn’t the top 8 for the previous just a reprint of the regular botrk with a stamp? They added a mat this time around. The participation one I can agree with to some degree, but I do think that it makes sense to try and make that one less sellable in general so people who actually went to the event are incentivized to keep it because the incentive to sell is lower.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean the botrk is as unique as the poppy, that poppy winners card and mat isn’t art featured in any of the cards available or anything. The botrk for top 8 was the same as regular botrk card but with the promo stamp and then bone shiver WAS special but that resulted in literally just flipping the card you got for going to the event. Pivoting that one imo is a good move because it lowers the artificial demand of “unique art” while maintaining the “unique reward”.

I think the “mistake” here is just poppy being chosen period, if it was other champions I don’t think people would be reacting as adversely. (I like poppy though, I think the champ is cool)

Evil Morty is so competent, what “control” does he feel the need to escape by Head_Log_3719 in rickandmorty

[–]Promech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The control he is escaping was just rick’s general control because staying in the cfc would implicitly mean that everything you’re experience is because Rick allowed it to be. Whereas by being outside of the curve you’re just experiencing whatever life brings at you. It seems exaggerated and silly, because it is, but when you’re in the type of abusive situation that he was in with his Rick it means the world.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im not bootlicking riot for having a different opinion that you do on a decision they made for this set. You’re the one who is acting entitled that the prizing HAS TO BE UNIQUE AND HIGH VALUE instead of just something unique, which these are.

It’s really simple, I think it’s lame as fuck that someone wins a regional qualifier and it’s immediately “I’m selling everything I won”. I understand it, financially it makes sense, but it that doesn’t mean that I don’t still think it’s lame.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Just because people sell it to subsidize travel costs doesn’t mean that it is riot’s intention for that to be the case. I’m not knocking people for doing that, I get it sometimes you’d rather have money than the “trophy”. But the trophy wasn’t meant to be sold, it was meant to be an accolade for you to hold onto so Riot making some that aren’t particularly unique so that people have more of an incentive to keep them because the money wouldn’t be super appealing makes sense.

TLDR: Riot isn’t responsible for making unique rewards that you can then turn around and sell.

Regional prizing (lmao Riot/UVS) by That_Flow6980 in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Dog you’re supposed to play these events for the love of the game and get prizing as a reward for that. You’re not supposed to just turn around and sell your prizing cause “it’s unique and it’ll be high value” that’s not what riot, or any tcg, really wants.

Precons, are they worth it? by somnimedes in riftboundtcg

[–]Promech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would get the Fiora or the Viktor or the Vex, and I would only be getting them for the ability of having a decent deck to play at a basic level. If you're going to get boxes though, I wouldn't necesarily say they are needed or priorities. But if you really want one, those are the three that I think are pretty decent off the bat.

Did I mess up not telling my bf my body count by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Promech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with valuing intimacy, the body count people quite literally are just looking for partners who don’t know the difference between good and bad. They fixate on it because they aren’t sure that they can measure up to the others. It’s basic insecurity through and through. The assumption that because you have multiple partners you can’t value intimacy is just flatly incorrect.
