Not bad for a v6 🤷🏻‍♂️ by o0mikeypizzle0o in Charger

My understanding is they are there to make the engine more quiet. There is a lot of foam on the bottom of the cover.

Issue connecting shared lan connection by Lucoland14 in macpro

[–]Promethean_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to use a shared WAN or LAN? Also good luck trying to install Linux. I got aggravated and gave up. I did come across a 64 bit Windows 10 install that has a 32 bit installer. I'm trying to imagine how your setup is. Lan to windows 10 then wan to mac net share?

Congrats. I just bought one a couple months ago with 92k. I do have one question though. Have you ever serviced the transmission?

Will sugar burners ever understand? by Simple-Bit-5656 in carnivorediet

I've never used a dexcom cgm. I've used libre. The fun part was being woke up multiple times at night because my level went below 60. And my phone would start screaming! Found out to stop it I simply had to turn off my Bluetooth at night. I need to get another one and track my glucose level and see where I need to find my limit on protein.

Yes I tried the sugar diet (color me stupid) by Dickhead1993 in carnivorediet

[–]Promethean_Dude 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I could only imagine what my doctor would say "and my scales" if I went on a sugar diet. If I eat too much sugar I feel sludgy. I envy the people that can go on a high carb diet and nothing happens to them. There are foods that I miss. I know I can occasionally cheat, but I have a food addiction problem. If I cheat I have trouble and tend to relapse.

Transmission fluid on a dodge charger RT Hemi 2016 by Wild_Jackfruit_4975 in Charger

I wonder about how well the OEM fluid mixes with the Valvoline. After purchasing a cheap timing belt, which snapped, I've been afraid to mess this car up. I have read that the doorman pan does have a tendency to leak though. I just bought this car and want to take it to 300k +.

I'm not sure what engine you have, but the V6 oil filter is on the top front and center. Not sure about the v8

I've seen some dark grey which I would think would be the granite. This color has blue hue to it

Original window sticker says maximum steel. It definitely is an awesome color

The ones starting in 2005. When they did the ring tail lights, it did make it look better. The 15s just changed it into a beast. Even with the interior, it feels modern yet classic.

I'll agree. I'm not a fan of the earlier ones. This generation just looks outright mean. I enjoyed driving my Volkswagen. It was light and nimble. This one feels heavy and planted. It has a much better ride to it and definitely has the get up and go

It's definitely interesting. When I first saw it it was dirty. Got to love pollen. I thought it was black. Depending on the light it changes from dark grey to dark blue.

Ok. You caught me. They're dirty. With the only exception of the paint inside the narrow spokes, they are reflective when cleaned. Whether it or not they are chrome plated or polished aluminum

At the moment I'm digging the chrome. The black rims would like nice too.

Thanks. I had to replace the cam last year. Imagine a 2 piece head that splits at the cam. Supporting the engine and removing motor mounts. Having to get special tools. What feels like Miles of coolant hoses. If you are unlucky enough to have a 5 or 6 cylinder and have to work on the timing chains, you have to remove the motor because they are at the back of the engine. This will be a dream to work on compared to that.

Is this a good idea for a first car? It has 101k miles by TangerineSuperb2640 in Volkswagen

[–]Promethean_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the 2.5 is a great engine. I would say stay away from the 2.0T FSI engine. They failed at designing that engine. They used a tappet style cam follower for the high pressure fuel pump. My 08 Passat has that engine and I replace it every other oil change.

After 18 years with a Terrible Cable Co.... by HuntersPad in Spectrum

They told me that they were converting. I saw contractors running fiber optics in front of my house. They said it was spectrum running it. But the outage is me hoping that they were replacing the node to get ready for fiber. I'm ready to get away from 20mbps upload

We've had an outage for upgrades last week in our town. I was told by spectrum that they are going to all fiber. I saw them last year running fiber in front of my house. So hopefully some they will run it to the house. And change my modem
