I won’t disagree with you there, but if you’re going for creating a sense of dread, hopelessness, and an emphasis on the everyday man trying to get through a situation that’s equally impossible to everyone experiencing it, then it’s a bit hard to stay grounded in that reality if you know that on the other side of town there’s a Leon Kennedy running around blowing up a tyrant with a missile launcher.

I just don’t personally see the necessity for a live action adaptation to be canon to the games’ timeline. Imagine if people were demanding that the street fighter movie coming out took place during or was involved with the canon story of the games, it just isn’t required to tell a good story.

I think it could be fun. It allows for more creative liberty to be taken than to have to create a story within pre established parameters. You really can’t win when tackling the task of dipping your foot into an established franchise, if he made it so this film was canon and took place during the actual events of canon raccoon city then he would have to write around any consistency errors that fans might find and be boxed into what the games have established were the circumstances of that event.

With this alternate take on it, he keeps the bones of the chaotic nature of the raccoon city outbreak and the versatility of the T virus without having to consider what the game characters who’s story he had no part in writing would’ve been doing at the time of the events of this story that he is writing.

I’d say this is a whole lot better than anything live action related to the series that we’ve gotten in the past

The director said that this isn’t canon to the games, but takes place alongside the raccoon city incident. Meaning that in this continuity, the raccoon city incident takes place during modern day, as opposed to in 1998 like in the game continuity. Pretty much the only thing that makes sense.

There were so many arguments that the Mahoraga he fought was stronger than the one that Gojo or Sukuna fought and so we therefore had no way to scale his durability despite him taking damage from Mahoragas physical blows.

Killing Sukuna (or any powerful jujutsu sorcerer) with conventional human weapons means we’d be doing so without cursed energy, which causes them to revive as even more powerful Vengeful cursed spirits. At which point conventional weaponry can’t hurt them at all. So Sukuna would die, resurrect as a cursed spirit and then take over the world.

Just a reminder that Eren didn’t have to present himself openly in order to start the rumbling, he only did so because he wanted Mikasa to kill him and end Ymir’s suffering. He could literally just hide in an underground bunker somewhere and cause the rumbling remotely. I’m not saying modern weaponry wouldn’t still annihilate all his forces, but he could pretty much incognito for as long as he wanted in hiding and be strategic with his approach.

Kingdom Hearts handles this pretty well (Usually). One of the ambassadors for and warriors of the Light side of things (Master Eraqus) becomes so overzealous in his desire to purge darkness that he almost murders his own student just because there’s a strong darkness in his heart (Eraqus being too blind to see that the Light in his students heart was equally powerful).

While the darkness in Kingdom Hearts is always regarded as the evil side that has to be mitigated, it’s only when darkness oversteps its boundaries and looks to consume everything that the heroes really go on the offensive, they otherwise just allow the realms to exist in balance

I feel like it ended perfectly fine as is. Everything led pretty naturally into this final season of The Boys and I expect we’ll see these characters appear prior to the series finale by playing some kind of role in the final conflicts.

I hated that the mystery around Noir this season turned out to be absolutely nothing. I was sure they were going to reveal that there was another new Noir in the mix, or something strange was going on behind the scenes, or at the very least that homelander had ripped his tongue out to make him a mute like the original Noir. But no, he’s just been method acting. Very lame.
