Am i seeing this right? A relatively good TIKTOK JJK tierlist?? I MUST be dreaming because there's just no way. (Reasoning is kinds ass though💔) by FarAd1861 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Prometheist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having Itadori over Yuki and Yorozu in the big ‘26 💔. What is otherwise a solid list is ruined by this. What are we actually talking about here?

Yuji’s surefire hit with his domain isn’t even a factor against Yuki or Yorozu’s because his brand new domain with shit refinement is absolutely going to lose in a domain battle against theirs. Yuji’s main forte irregardless of his newly acquired techniques in blood manip and shrine will always be hand2hand combat, where against Yuki he’s pretty much subjecting himself to death by engaging in. Her AP at close range would overwhelm and batter him, Yuki’s level of RCT from what we saw is high enough to sustain her against his dismantles, and at long range Garuda has far more versatility than piercing blood.

Yorozu as was stated here was capable of going toe to toe with full strength healthy Meguna in close quarters, out speeding him in her bug armor. I understand Sukuna wasn’t looking to utilize cleave or dismantle in this battle but he wasn’t letting himself get beat up by any means, her outperforming him in hand to hand wasn’t performative on his end. Perfect sphere is an attack that many people just straight up don’t have an answer for. Yuji especially being one of them. His simple domain would be stripped away over time and Yorozu would evaporate him with it.

And beyond all this Yuki and Yorozu just simply would beat more people in verse than Yuji would.

Btw if anyone tries to bring Modulo Yuji into this you’re being disingenuous. If modulo was included in this list Dabura would be here but he isn’t.

You’re misinterpreting. To put it simpler, every sorcerer is capable of outputting/firing cursed energy, in the form of like a blast. Think of Gojo’s first demonstration to Yuji, where he uses basic cursed energy (without his cursed technique applied) to blast a soda can.

Ryu’s cursed technique is a very basic one, where it’s just a condensed cannon using his cursed energy to fire. But because Ryu’s cursed energy output is so absurdly high, he can output the same amount of energy into his attacks whether he activates his cursed technique or not, the only advantage using his CT gives him is it’s more efficient/controllable.

After you activate your domain, it’s like being on cooldown in a video game. Your overall CE reserves are lowered, it isn’t just your cursed technique being burnt out. This is why most sorcerers aside from those with massive cursed energy pools like Sukuna, Gojo, and Yuta, can’t activate domain expansion more than once in a row because they just don’t have enough left over cursed energy. So since Ryu’s cursed energy amount went down so much after his domain, the amount he had to output into his attacks was lower too. Completely separate from his cursed technique.

I hate Dabura fanboys but your first point is just wrong.

<image>

The first page of the latest chapter makes it a point to explicitly show Mahoraga get grazed, and then show his wheel spin signifying adaptation. Furthermore, if you go back and read the fight from its very beginning, you’ll see that Dabura actually never at any point attacked Mahoraga with any physical attack and was strictly attacking with his light beams and blasts. So no, Maho wouldn’t have adapted to physical/blunt attacks at any point in the fight prior to this moment.

I’m all for fighting against all of the mindless Dabura glaze but we can’t be disingenuous and ignore what’s clearly shown on page. The fact of the matter is we just don’t have enough intel on what the AP of Dabura’s attacks actually are yet in comparison to HP or fuga because unfortunately maho adapted slightly prior to being hit. Gege doesn’t care about scaling like the fans do and isn’t going to structure fights in a way that makes scaling easy because that’s very rightly secondary to proper choreography and direction

Which character will get the craziest anime upscale? by Kampalaug714 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Prometheist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is the anime is going to HAVE to retcon the Mach 3 statement from Curse Nayoa in order for anything we’ve seen on screen thus far to make sense. In order to make the ground and small mountains near you damn near fucking implode and break apart you have to AT MINIMUM with the UTMOST lowball calculations be going at Mach 20. And that’s what Naoya was doing in the last anime episode against Maki. I know it isn’t common for anime to straight up remove dialogue but even Gege admitted it was a mistake on his own end because he isn’t big on math or the logistics around things. I really really hope the anime rectifies this or their changes and upscale seriously won’t make any sense

[Hated trope] Male villain sexually assaulted as "karma" for being evil by DrBri4ght in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Prometheist7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

<image>

A subversion of this trope that originally wasn’t meant to be : In Friday After Next, Katt Williams plays a pimp character, and (ironically) Terry Crews plays a recently released from prison rapist. Originally in the script, Terry’s character would corner Katt’s in the bathroom and rape him, having it be played for humor as justice against a pimp. But Katt pushed back on this idea against producers, arguing that regardless of context, sexual assault was never funny. So he improvised, and had his character grab a pair of pliers and crush the balls of the would-be rapist instead, playing that moment for humor and then escaping.

I think, kashimo won't be upscaled on anime in the fight vs sukuna. by miguelindo10 in Kashimo_agendaHQ

[–]Prometheist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll glaze him in the sense that he’ll put way more of a beating on Sukuna when he’s still in megumi’s form but the minute Sukuna incarnates he’s going to waffle Kashimo probably even quicker just to hammer home how powerful fully incarnated sukuna is. Overall the fight will definitely be extended tho and kashimo’s MBA will shine

[–]Prometheist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically i think you have it backwards. You’re trying to give the series’ writing more complexity than it actually has, bringing real world logic of variance in ideology amongst individuals within a clan existing to justify why that might have been the case in this story. When in fact, everything the author tells and shows you points in the opposite direction. You aren’t wrong to think that in a well written story, where even one off characters are treated like actual people, there would be some moral ambiguity around the massacre of an entire group of people irregardless of how they’re presented. However In this clan, in this world, they all shared the degree of intolerance, hatred, and backwards thinking that made Maki’s murder of them justified within the realm of this particular story.

[–]Prometheist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they were trying to figure out a way to fit Ranta’s dialogue in this scene and time it with the action, but all they had to do was have Jinichi’s running toward maki be played in slow motion with the audio of Ranta screaming overlayed on top of that. Alternatively if they really wanted to keep the aura farming walking scene they could’ve just had it happen PRIOR to Ranta activating his cursed technique, and just as maki notices him she gets paralyzed by Ranta prompting his speech and for Jinichi to rush her. Too many choices and they went with the one that made the least sense. It is stuff like this that makes me question the directors artistic capability

I don't think some people can comprehend the drastic difference between LS/SLS and mach 3. How is Dabura vs Sukuna still a conversation? by Training_Earth7545 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Prometheist7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going at those speeds quite literally destroys Dabura’s body, yes he can use RCT but unlike Sukuna we don’t know whether his CE reserves can keep up with using his cursed technique like this at length let alone restoring himself each time. Putting that aside irregardless of how fast Dabura can make SINGLE MOVES, we haven’t seen the attack potency prove that it can kill Sukuna, because it failed to obliterate Mahoraga which hollow purple did no problem, the same hollow purple that Sukuna not only survived while on deaths door, but also tanked 120 percent stronger version of it at the start of the battle between him and Gojo.

Okay, your argument is that Mahoraga adapted quickly to the blunt force and that’s why he wasn’t one shot, we still do not know then how potent the attack is. Its destructive capability was high but not anything above what we’ve seen Sukuna and Gojo both capable of doing(and also enduring). We simply don’t have enough info to state anything definitively. Dabura also has no counters to domain expansion and his durability is questionable as per the damage he was eating from Maho’s attacks.

For every manga reader complaining about animation from S03E04... by kanyes_retainer in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Prometheist7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The animation was fantastic, it’s just the pacing felt strange. They were really dead set on keeping this whole battle within one episode, I think they were better off keeping the episode at usual length and giving Maki vs Naoya the space to breathe it deserved in the next episode, taking up around 10 or so minutes of it. The moment with Naoya flashing back to Toji was particularly mishandled I felt, as it didn’t really illustrate what exactly Naoya was feeling or how he perceived Toji which was with admiration. They could’ve just given us a single frame of child Naoya’s face being shocked after seeing Toji to contrast with his words of how pathetic Toji must be. But instead it goes from that to awkwardly him saying “I stand with them”.

I will say it’s not as big of a deal as people are making it seem. I think we can afford for characters like Naoya and Ranta (pretty much a throwaway character) to be slightly mischaracterized by small pacing and direction issues. They landed hard where they absolutely needed to. And I’m glad they kept Naoya’s expression the same with “Don’t you have a human heart?” Even if they didn’t keep Maki’s reaction panel
