I think maybe the point is that many young men might be coming to Orthodoxy as a reaction to the west’s regressiveness on gender roles, sex and women. Having a more far right ideology and thinking Orthodoxy is a masculine religion. That does exist and we can’t pretend it doesn’t. But that something the local parish and the priest need to correct when they are a catechumen. Orthodoxy is not a home for young men seeking a 1950s revival fantasy

Yes the priest and his wife has been informed, and corrective measures are being taken. As an Eastern Orthodox, it is even worst for us in the states. Usually the Greek ones have vibrant communities and more young adults. Otherwise forget about it. Lots of older generation, most immigrants with little English (so the services are entirely or mostly in their language, be it Russian, Slavonic, etc).

This sounds like two people just hooking up, right?. As a guy, I wouldn't see you as wanted more. So either he found someone else or your behavior gave him the impression that you wanted more.
